It looks like the blue wave won't carry a surfboard here.

Hillary won that district.

With all precincts reported, Katie is in 2nd place by a little less than 800 votes. In the coming days, ballots mailed in immediately prior to the election and provisional ballots will be counted and it will be seen if her lead holds or perhaps extends.

Typical low turnout in this primary is a very poor prognosticator for the November election.

This will take a while to sort out and might be settled in a courtroom.

Is that 2nd over all or second to the republican?
As far as November, if the trade war takes off and gas prices keep creeping up it's anyone's guess.
My offer still holds, anyone sending her money can guest star in one of my stories. I will make you look cool!

So it was Katie Hill who bested Jess Phoenix (scientist)...

It's too bad they weren't contending in different districts.

Katie is 2nd overall (only the two top vote getters face each other in Nov, regardless of party). Steve Knight (the Republican incumbent) got the most votes (as you would expect).

Once the results are final and it is a two person race, support of those who want change will coalesce behind Katie.

Getting voters out in November will be the deciding factor in who eventually wins. The greater the turnout, the more it favors Katie (or any Democrat).

Older, white and conservative voters are more reliable voters (greater participation percentage). This is why the Republican Party always attempts to suppress voting (voter ID laws, etc.) as it favors them.

AND, I'll extend my offer of a Josh Guide (as long as supplies last) if you send me confirmation of a $40 or greater donation to Katie's campaign.

The Repub. got over 50%. I thought this meant that he wins outright, there will be no runoff in November.

It is a Primary, not a multi candidate Run-Off (as other states have). So No, that is incorrect.

There will ALWAYS be two candidates in the General Election in November (the top two vote getters in the Primary), even if they are from the same party (e.g., 2 Republicans or 2 Democrats).

This was a primary, not a runoff.

Her platform is not to attack trump, but to push what she wants to accomplish for the district. I think this is the tactic dems should use.

Yea Katie

I love her ads
she made it to the final election in Nov.
hopefully she wins

But she doesn't represent my district
Dana Rohrabacher does, and the total Dem votes were above his total
So hopefully we can say, Dana; "Time is Up"

And have representation that reflects the Blue District that it has been for decades

That's the problem with this new format. In November there will hardly be anybody on the ballot who I will want to vote for.

Nobody you want to vote for...consider running for office yourself.

Count me in sketchy. I'll donate but don't need the guide. I like her style. Just sent a hundred bills to her campaign.

Okay, here is the deal. You make an online contribution to Katie and I'll match it up to $500. This means she would receive $1,000. Just email your receipt to me at johntpenca@gmail.com.

Thanks

edit: I mean I'll pony up for $500; after I've used up my $500 I'm out.
