A just out, Reuters/Issos poll has these figures after Trump's Helsinki meltdown.

More than half of Americans disapprove of the way U.S. President Donald Trump is handling relations with Russia, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after his controversial summit and joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, Trump’s performance at the Helsinki summit, where Trump refused to blame the Russian leader for meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and cast doubt on the findings of U.S. intelligence agencies, did not seem to have an impact on his overall approval rating.

Forty-two percent of registered voters said they approved of Trump’s performance in office in the latest opinion poll, compared with a daily average of between 40 and 44 percent so far in July.

The poll found that 55 percent of registered voters disapproved while 37 percent approved of his handling of relations with Russia.

Among Republicans, 71 percent approved of his handling of Russia compared to 14 percent of Democrats.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-russia-voters/majority-of-americans-think-trump-mishandling-russia-reuters-ipsos-poll-idUSKBN1K72T1

As usual, Trump keeps around 40% - 44% approval ratings, no matter what he does, proving to me that around 40% of the American public will support anyone who claims to be a Republican, or who, promotes racism, Bullying, intolerance, an anti-abortion stance, & general hatred for foreigners, &/or liberals.

I heard a story about a lazy Billy-Bob.

How lazy was he?

He was so lazy, he bought a sheep that was already pregnant.

Are you worried that electronic voting could be vulnerable to hacking?

You’re probably not worried nearly enough...

Sorry Paddy... I can't keep up with your back editing and changing entire paragraphs and adding things.

A bit of exaggeration there Russ. I do back edit, for clarity and perhaps brevity, for typos, but entire paragraphs? I am not too sure about that one, but I'll take your word for it.

Outside of wine-stained writing, which both you and I have pointed out, I try to present a "valid" point of view., for better lack of terms.

It is past 4 in the morning, outside of my idiotic episodes, I try to present a clear and rational POV of how the world is unfolding. I could do a better job if I put my mind to it, but this is the Taco Stand, I have fun posting, sometimes too seriously, sometimes not so.

I just enjoy the company. Cheap thrills.

And I like the fact that I can go in and change what I have written. If you cannot keep up with a 'fluid' conversation, well don't read what I have to write.

I am going to dig up some of my editorials from Irish Communications, a monthly magazine (now defunct) I launched in November 1998. My first one was how the internet is full of questionable websites for children, but later ones also addressed the issue of miscommunications, discommunications and outright fabrications. Falsehoods.

Fast forward 20 years. And the situation is even more dire. Social media. How social is it? The amount of BS out there is outstanding. I cringe at some of the stuff I read. Is that really the shape of the world as we see it?

Food for thought.

“My people came to me,” he said Monday in Helsinki, Finland. “They said they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin; he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”
Mr. Trump had just returned from Finland, where he sided against his own intelligence agencies’ conclusions about Russian interference in the 2016 election during a meeting with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. “I have President Putin; he just said it’s not Russia,” Mr. Trump had said on Monday. “I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

And by that, Mr. Trump said on Tuesday, more than 24 hours later, he meant the exact opposite. “The sentence should have been, "I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,” Mr. Trump said. “Sort of a double negative.”
The exact opposite and "Sort of a double negative"????? So which is it? Words f*#king MATTER!!!!! So anyone can just totally reverse what they said by pleading bullsh#t? Then nothing actually means anything and there are no consequences? I guess this is the Trumpian method; goddess save America, as the oath of office seems to be totally malleable too. We're heading down the rabbit hole (thanks, Gracie).

Trump is functionally illiterate, so I guess it is possible he couldn't even put a simple statement together.

The more likely explanation is that he is trying to play both sides, because Putin can crater him any time he wants. If he could hack the DNC, he has plenty of dirt on little Donnie. The sad thing is that his supporters are still trying to defend a traitor to the country they claim to love.

Are you worried that electronic voting could be vulnerable to hacking?

I saw a documentary about voting software, wherein the "whistleblower" showed that the voting software could be easily subverted.

The software screens shown were for a Visual Basic GUI programs that tabulated voter results.

O'Really.

The source code shown on the documentary was 100% Visual Basic.

Nothing to hack, here.

Stupendous stupidity is defined as being:

Serenely supposing secrecy and security is seen as an inherently safe situation, and silicon servers, somehow, are not at risk from subversive sordidians seeking scurrilous subversion, and supposing that nobody seeks to subvert the security of a Stable State, and nobody is seeking to specifically spew subliminal statements intend to skew scandalous stories, as being sagacious, in a situational scam, 'suant to stealing your sandwich.
