So those of you that are saying Trump got a good deal, were you also in favor of the Iran Nuclear deal negotiated by Obama and other countries?
You know, the one that actually had paper terms signed by all the parties, and specified inspectors on the ground(which actually happened).

Or are you like Trump, more in favor of flashy talk without anything behind it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm OK with him talking to Kim. Trying to bring NK into the world is a good thing. But until there's an actual, detailed agreement that shows evidence of being abided by, this is pretty much all hot air. In direct contrast to the Iran deal.

Cmon dude, how can we process what you’re saying without knowing your real name? I need to warp my beliefs with some social emotion, and you’re making it hard for me to do that without knowing your name!

F*#k you partisans! I’m partisan to the nonpartisans. You partisans can all go to hell, while we nonpartisans and our nonpartisan children inherit the earth.

This should go well.

Many were desperate and at the end of their chain. The Dynamics of this economy had kicked them the curb and they had come to grips with their meager prospects.

Trump was their last gamble. They rolled the dice and put all of our futures in the hands of a charlatan that had guaranteed them he never loses.

Snake eyes folks...

Considering where we are now, conservatives’ concerns that Obama was building a cult of personality during his campaigns and presidency are unbelievably quaint.

Snake eyes folks...

I'm no Trump fanbois, but I'm baffled when people say this sort of thing.

What evidence do you cite to draw such a sweeping confusion.

For my part, the leveling of the corporate tax code (which most of you clearly have zero understanding of, since you assert the ridiculous claim of "welfare for mega-corps") enables our small company to be tax-level now with the two mega-corps that are our competition. Our tax situation has improved so much that that alone has us ready to hire again. That's literally a new job that didn't exist and wouldn't exist pre-corporate-tax reform.

Our personal tax situation is also better, as it is for the vast majority of Americans.

The economy is doing well, and Trump is NO different from former presidents who believe in kicking the debt-can down the road while adding to it. Obama doubled the national debt in his time, and with Obamacare he also set us up for vast future debt-liabilities. Some of that liability is now being undone (and you scream about that too).

Seems to me that you guys want big-government coupled with an ever-increasing welfare state. You just want the welfare flowing to the people you decide. And you only selectively attack presidents for kicking the debt-can down the road. Obama got a full pass on that point from you guys.

Fine, but the present economy is sure not "snake eyes" for the majority of Americans, and we're hiring again, as are a huge number of other companies. I guess "snake eyes" for all those job-seekers that now have newly available jobs?

And don't try to float the liberal-rag-line about "reduced employment participation." The participation metrics are exactly in line with historical averages, no more and no less, and FAR better than the low in 1954. Or perhaps you imagine that Trump affected participation in 1954, which is why it was so low then. It's sure not low now.

I seriously don't get how you guys can complain about "snake eyes" in this present economy. If it were Hillary in office, you'd be CROWING about how AWESOME she was doing (of course, also while kicking the debt-can down the road, as all presidents now must do).

Thank you for that.

I'm the owner of a small S Corp with five employees and usually 10 to 20 subcontractors on my projects at any one time. I've submitted itemized tax returns for over 20 years.

I have quite a bit to say on this topic but the wind is currently down and there's a small swell in the water so I'm going surfing.

Sorry but faux facts from trumpyland only fly at lemming rallies.
Anyone who voted for trumpy who is not part of the ~1% is a lemming who voted against their own pocket, feeding into the growing wealth inequity.
Trump is no different than the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Massive tax cuts, during a time of healthy economy, financed by deficit spending will eventually collapse the economy.

I would have said that what is important is what the debt was used for in the first place. In that respect the difference between Obama and Trump is huge.
I think its pretty spineless to be making these sort of false equivalencies.

Splater! I agree with your thoughts on the Republican's tax cut.

And!

MB1! I appreicate the Republican tax cuts have been good for your small corporation & you. You lower yourself by touting their benefits to the rich. Please, let me tell you why you have become a Trumpian shill for the Republican's disasterous tax cut.

From Splatter:
Trump is no different than the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Massive tax cuts, during a time of healthy economy, financed by deficit spending will eventually collapse the economy.

I'm not MB1's poor & needy liberal, but anyone, who is not blinded by greed, can understand that the Republican's passed that tax cut to benefit their donors.

From that noted liberal publication (jest kidding) International Business Times:

Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said that “the financial contributions will stop” if tax reform fails.

New York Rep. Chris Collins told reporters on Tuesday that his donors were “basically saying, ‘Get it done or don't ever call me again.’”

A review of these legislators’ campaign finance records shows which kinds of donors they appear to be scared of irritating. Both Graham and Collins are dependent on donors who can contribute large sums to their campaigns — those who also are likely to gain from the GOP tax cut plan, which heavily favors the wealthy and large corporations — and take in relatively few small contributions.

According to the Federal Elections Commission data analyzed by International Business Times, only 1.4 percent of the money this year from individual donors to Graham — a member of the Senate Budget Committee — came in the form of “small donations,” or contributions of $200 or less. The vast majority (70 percent) came from donations of $2,000 or more.

Among the top corporations that have donated to Graham’s campaigns from 2013 to the present are several that are sponsoring a “Tax Prom” event next week in hopes of the GOP passing a tax reform bill that will drastically cut their corporate tax rates from 35 percent down to 20 percent.

PACs and individuals associated with companies such as Tax Prom sponsors Altria, Boeing, ExxonMobil, and Raytheon have lavished Graham with donations over the past five years. Of Graham’s donor industries, the securities and investment industry ($814,000 since 2013) is second only to lawyers and law firms, according to data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The wealthy will also benefit from income tax cuts; the latest Tax Policy Center analysis of the regressive tax plan concluded that by 2027, those in the top 0.1 percent of Americans in terms of income will see an average tax cut of over $278,000, while those in the bottom 20 percent will get a tax cut of only $10.

The New York Times estimates that nearly half of middle-class families would end up paying more in taxes in 2026 as a result of the plan.

Obama doubled the national debt in his time, and with Obamacare he also set us up for vast future debt-liabilities. Some of that liability is now being undone (and you scream about that too).

Obama inherited two wars, the Great Recession and Bush's tax cuts- that predominantly benefited the wealthy.

The fact is, deficit spending started to trend down towards the end of Obama's second term. Some of this was the result of sequestration . I don't think he did enough to decrease deficits or reign in spending. However, Republicans are statistically much worse in terms of deficit spending over the last 35 years.

Anyways, when I mention Snake Eyes I'm referring to the measure of a Man. The despot inherited a strong economy and he's going to f*** it up. The tax breaks that you claim are so wonderful and allowing you to employ one more person will evaporate in the next 3 years and your taxes will actually go up while the wealthiest Americans will reap favorable tax benefits in perpetuity.

I'd be glad to revisit this discussion in two years.Deficits and the national debt are projected to explode with Trumps new tax plan and budget per the CBO.

Gary! Your photo & post are a little bit of a reach, even for the noted historian Fritz.

But I like the comparison a lot!

Thank you!

From Wikipedia:

Prime Minister Chamberlain's aeroplane landed at the Heston Aerodrome on 30 September 1938, and he spoke to the crowds there:

The settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine. Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you: " ... We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again."[3]

Later that day he stood outside 10 Downing Street and again read from the document and concluded:

My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.[3]

Chamberlain's return was not universally well-received. 15,000 people protested against the Munich agreement the same day in Trafalgar Square, three times more than welcomed him at 10 Downing Street. Due to Chamberlain's ongoing manipulation of the BBC, this news was largely suppressed at the time.[4] Labour spokesman Hugh Dalton publicly suggested that the piece of paper which Chamberlain was waving was "torn from the pages of Mein Kampf." [5] Disbelieving Chamberlain, Isaac Asimov published in July 1939 "Trends", which mentions a World War in 1940; he later wrote "I was too conservative".[6]
