Ike won 55% of the vote based on that platform

And the highest marginal income tax rate was much higher than today. Wealth disparity wasn't a national crisis, and people didn't live in fortified compounds.

The Interstate Highway System and affordable college education were just two results from Ike's domestic policies.

Nobody called Ike a commie, back then.

Today, Ike would quit the Republican Party, in disgust, after witnessing the previous few years. Ike defeated Germany, and its duplicitous propaganda machine, to prevent its pathological dysfunction from spreading to other nations.

If Ike were alive today, he would lead the fight against Trump and the alternative reality narrative that Trump and his echo chamber present to the nation.

The Ghost of Eliot Spitzer Past is back in the news. Dominique Strauss-Kahn's sex scandal also seems strangely familiar.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has resigned, following a report on allegations of assault by multiple women, as printed in The New Yorker. Physically abusive behavior, sometimes in bed after both parties had been drinking alcohol, seems to be what is alleged.

The first incident described in The New Yorker article is shocking enough, all by itself. If true, Schneiderman did the right thing by resigning. But, the victim in that incident continued to be involved with him romantically for almost two more years.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/four-women-accuse-new-yorks-attorney-general-of-physical-abuse

The New York Attorney General's office seemed poised to investigate, indict, and convict Michael Cohen, in a manner that would obviate any pardon Trump might offer in exchange for Cohen's loyalty and silence. The Southern District Court presently has jurisdiction over the treasure trove of Cohen evidence, but it's been speculated that at least some of it would be passed to the State of New York, to allow a separate prosecution in that jurisdiction. A similar situation has already occurred with Paul Manafort, who is facing both Federal and State indictments.

Until today's resignation, Eric Schneiderman headed up the New York prosecutor's office that would have accepted and acted upon any such bequeathed Cohen evidence.

Maybe it's all just a coincidence . . . . . . . . . . . .

And, maybe Benghazi doesn't rhyme with fugazi.

coming from what appears to be an FSB-controlled propaganda bot.

One of my favorite memes--anyone who disagrees with liberal whackjobs here is a Russian bot. Or a troll. What a small world you all live in. Clearly you are missing something when you talk only to one another. And with the exception of, maybe, JH, none of you seem to be in possession of a generalist praxis that would earn you or your views any standing outside this forum.

Anyway, sorry things aren't going your way. I know you all had such high hopes for the downfall:

Trump The Lothario was notorious long before his wife Ivana couldn't tolerate any more openly public cheating, and she divorced him in 1992.

Trump told Howard Stern, during a live radio broadcast, that his "personal Vietnam" was avoiding STDs. A draft dodger, he said he should receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for surviving his own degenerate promiscuity.

Trump told Stern, during a different on-air broadcast, that "deeply troubled women are always the best in bed," implying that Trump had preyed upon and exploited vulnerable women before he made the statement.

Candice Bergen went on a date with Trump c. 1965. She said there was no physical contact, no attraction, and no second date. Trump showed up in a 3-piece burgundy suit that matched his loafers and his limo. Bergen said Trump was a "d#@&%e". She was back home by 9 p.m.

Salma Hayek says Trump hit on her when he knew she was already involved with someone else.

Emma Thompson turned Trump down for a date in 1996-1997, during the time she was filming the movie Primary Colors. Trump was married to Marla Maples at the time.

How about Reuters?

Washington, DC - The Reuters/Ipsos Core Political poll has a significant realignment this week across a number of metrics. Most pronounced is President Trump’s approval rating which currently sits at 48% with all Americans. His number with registered voters is essentially the same at 49%. Corresponding with Trump’s stronger approval rating, evaluations of his job performance across the board are stronger this week from 57% approving of his handling of the economy to 44% approving of the way he treats people like them. On the generic congressional ballot, our current poll shows a +5-point advantage for Democrats, the smallest lead we’ve seen in recent weeks.

In his First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1817, President James Monroe warned:

"What raised us to the present happy state?...

The Government has been in the hands of the people. To the people, therefore ... is the credit due ...

It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising the sovereignty.

Usurpation is then an easy attainment, and an usurper soon found.

The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin ..."

Yeah, we're there.

Trump is a master manipulator and deceiver. His audience just laps up whatever he puts out for them.

A little under 50% of Americans think Trump is a great president. They don't care that he lies, because they like what he says; they want to be lied to.

Ten years ago, maybe 30% liked being lied to. Ten years from now, 60% will want to be lied to.

The Trumptenstein monster has come to life, and after him will come another.

It's the decay of the republic into an imperium, the same that happened to Rome.

Maybe China will save us by invading us.

This means you are talking to yourself.

Why are we there?
Because we allow the right wing media outlets to lie to us and call it news.
50% of the population are completely misinformed and think the lies they hear are facts

We need to enforce our propaganda laws that we enacted after WWII to make sure what happened to Germany will never happen to us.

I believe if a vote were taken here, you'd win the contest for continually repeating the same words and phrases, over and over.

I make the effort to absorb news - fake videos, fake lawyers, fake statements, fake indictments, fake courts, fake evidence and fake people in fake jails getting faked by fake con bosses - and then I attempt to make sense of it all.

I am too old to climb thin cracks, so the only finger exercise I ever get is typing politard nonsense into my computer.

Sometimes, it makes people laugh.

So what’s the new plan for Iran?

Hi Dirtbag,

the new plan is for thoughts an prayers to go out to the other countries who signed the Iran deal

now that America is no longer part of it

because that black President put it together and everything he did must be negated
