You mean your name is NOT Lollie????? Crushed....

But then, my name's not Happie, either, although there really are plenty of people who call me that instead of my real name.

if you lived in Norway you would live by Norwegian standards with a Norwegian salary. You'd also have universal health care, 5 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year parental leave, tuition free university, pay equality, free birth control and gun control.

And how has that last one worked out?

I'm sure as hell not going to share my name & location with the Russian spy-bots & conservative crazies who blight this website.

Blinders, I guess? Again, a crazy liberal sampler from this topic to shock your delusion. Or not. Feel free to share your 'crazy conservative' version. (Sadly, I won't be able to see it for a few months.)

Hey Lituya! I appreciate you are off to work.

Anyway, after seeing you protest that you were really were a climber & not a troll, I noted you claimed to have soloed Skyladder at the Columbia Icefields in the last few years.

Just for you, I dredged up some of my mid-1970's memories & photos of climbing Skyladder, in hopes that you might actually post selfies & story of you climbing Skyladder in new & much more difficult conditions, due to Global Warming.

I had a telling conversation with a rabid Trump supporter about this topic. It was illuminating because it showed me just how wide the gulf is between Trump supporters and normal people.

I made the statement that Trump is the president of all Americans, and he should be more careful about what he says. You know- Trump should act presidential, in a manner that is consistent with the office of the president.

The Trump supporter responded, "Why should Trump care what he says? He's the President! He can say whatever he wants!"

When I am representing my businesses, I act as a representative of the brand.

ClimbAddict Designs is more edgy than Talisman Studios(hair ties made with antique buttons), which is respectful and in awe of the artisinal early days of machine manufacturing(when machines were first used to produce buttons, the button artists elevated their craft in astonishing ways). Talisman Too(my jewelry collections), while similar to Talisman Studios, has more of my personal story and attitude. I definitely display my free-spirited self, and point to the artistry of those that make the elements I use as my materials, but my voice is more rough than the button one, which is, I guess I would say, respectful of my elders.

When I wear any of those hats, you won't see or hear me rant about some of the things I take issue with in these political and other personal-experience threads.

Whether he wants to accept or or not, all leaders of a country are representatives of "a brand." They are the symbol of what their respective country's stand for as a whole.

Donald Trump is like one of those sports guys who gets a big contract with whatever company, to be "their face," and then gets arrested for partner abuse, or drunken driving where someone is killed, or any number of the things that get their contracts nulled.

Donald Trump, does NOT represent we, the people, as a whole, and the majority of us knew that before he became president. That was why we said "no," and said it so loudly. That is why we are angry and embarrassed.

Well, at least that's one of the reasons. There's also his cluelessness about rule of law and foreign relationships, his tendency to designate incompentant and/or unqualified people for key positions, his disdain for anyone who doesn't laud his very being, his well-established track record of treating women as if they were either sh#t on the bottom if his shoe or disposable dickwarmers, and last, but certainly not least, the fact that he is enchained by the Russian mob.

Many of us knew those things before the election. Some learned after, and some still give the benefit of doubt, considering how unspeakably bizarre it seems that our highest level representative could be so, so....those things..., and then there are those who think THAT is the "fake news" or - so much worse - do not care.

Don't worry, those who think we are waiting with bated breath for Mueller Time to come. When it comes, there are going to be plenty of Democrats who have also been compromised by Russia. The only difference is that those people didn't come into office with the connection.

And, for what it's worth, I don't believe that Donald Trump rubbed his hands together in anticipation, and willingly "did as told." He may have been oblivious, for a MUCH longer time than the average person would be, that he was in over his head in a game he was never going to win, but I doubt he did it with malice. His choice was very likely that of personal disgrace(a strong motivator) and the knowledge his precious daughter would end up suffering unspeakably(an unbearable thing to bear responsibility for, for any parent), and continuing as if all was as should be.

Ethiopian protesters killed for singing anti-government songs: U.N.

REUTER;

GENEVA
Ethiopian security forces opened fire on protesters who were singing anti-government songs, U.N. human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said on Tuesday.
Authorities said on Monday that at least seven people died in clashes between security forces and worshippers taking part in a religious ceremony marking Epiphany in Amhara region in northern Ethiopia at the weekend, but they had yet to determine the cause of the violence.
Shamdasani told a U.N. briefing in Geneva that the U.N. human rights office was extremely concerned by the deaths.
"The incident, in Woldiya City in Amhara Regional State on 20 January, reportedly took place when the security forces tried to stop people from chanting anti-government songs and allegedly opened fire on them. Protesters reportedly later blocked roads and destroyed a number of properties."
Ethiopian government spokesman Negeri Lencho, reacting to Shamdasani's statement, told journalists on Tuesday that demands by the public should be "raised peacefully." Security forces should exercise restraint and avoid actions that could lead to death and injury, he said.
Shamdasani did not specify the source of the information but said the U.N.'s regional office in Addis Ababa had collected information from several sources, including local media, trusted civil society sources and official statements.
The incident was all the more regrettable as it came just two weeks after Ethiopia's ruling coalition, the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front, announced its intention of undertaking reforms, she added.
"We understand that the President of Amhara Regional State, who confirmed that there had been deaths and injuries, said there would be what he termed a 'careful examination' of the incident."
She said it should be prompt, independent, impartial and effective and ensure anybody responsible for violating human rights was held accountable.

Some food for thought, you can search for the Clinton Foundation's tax returns here:
http://nccs.urban.org/sites/all/nccs-archive/html/PubApps/search.php
I think this is the latest available:
http://990s.foundationcenter.org/990_pdf_archive/311/311580204/311580204_201412_990.pdf

Maybe someone can confirm what I'm reading here. It looks like 486 people were paid $34.8M out of a total of $177.8M to give away $5.16M

why would anyone care about the Clinton Foundation's tax returns?

unless of course, one was so obsessed with all things Clinton that they were hoping to find something, anything, to piss and moan about

False Equivalence when compared to the Donald Trump "Foundation" now closed

the "Charity" that bought a six foot painting of Donald himself for $20,000 to hang in his golf club, google it

Ballo,

I have no idea what the snippet of tax form you have included says, but when I looked up the Clinton Foundation (Not the Bill Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation), on Charity Navigator, the organization is rated pretty highly.

At first I was surprised, as there is an icon with wording and it said "Low," but when I clicked to learn more, what it meant was "Low Concern Advisory."
https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=16680

It says:
86.9 % - Program Expenses
(Percent of the charity's total expenses spent on the programs
and services it delivers)
9.5% - Administrative Expenses
3.4% - Fundraising Expenses
$0.02 - Fundraising Efficiency

Also, says "All data for Financial Performance Metrics calculations was provided by The Clinton Foundation on recent 990s filed with the IRS. "

The organization has a 93.91 score out of 100, and 4 Stars out of 4 Stars

So I'm not sure how the numbers on what you posted correlate to the ratings of a recognized rating house of non-profits, but it doesn't seem Chariry Navigator duns the Clinton Foundation.

Noe the Donald Trump Foundation, on the other hand....

And what would Trump make of this? He'd be admiring of the Ethiopian "strong strong" leader, and wonder why we don't do stuff like that in the US.

He has essentially advocated retribution for actions he deems to be anti-gov't. Take the NFL players, for example.

Actually, while many PC people went out with the best intentions, many didn’t. And many of
the do-gooders were rather hopeless, if not downright counterproductive. And before any of
you get on yer high horse let me remind you my wife is from Africa and I’ve heard countless
stories of idiotic PC people. Overall it was a good thing but the percentage of not so good
was pretty high.

Speaking of shithole countries, Lituya had to go all the way back to 2011 to dig up a mass attack in Norway:
And how has that last one worked out?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Norway_attacks

We should be so lucky. However, we have positive proof that things are getting better here. The first fatal school shooting of 2017 was on January 21 at Purdue University. This year's first fatal school shooting wasn't until today, Jan. 23.

Interesting Peace Corps article. You get the sense that the writer was an entitled white girl of standing, who expected to conduct glee club sessions.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that a few decades later, liberals would be pushing the lie that Western civilization is no better than a third-world country.

She must also be reading challenged, and even TV challenged. It was the current President and his cronies that have been selling that notion. As he told blacks, "what have you got to lose?"

Last time I was in Paris,.....

Yeah, that's where all the residents of Watts hang out during the winter season.....

The longer I lived there, the more I understood: it became blindingly obvious that the Senegalese are not the same as us

What a brilliant kid! Amazingly, that is true of the French (who she attacks), the British, the Norwegians, the Russians, even the Chinese!
What a revelation!

What I did witness every day was that women were worked half to death. Wives raised the food and fed their own children, did the heavy labor of walking miles to gather wood for the fire, drew water from the well or public faucet, pounded grain with heavy hand-held pestles, lived in their own huts, and had conjugal visits from their husbands on a rotating basis with their co-wives. Their husbands lazed in the shade of the trees.

What this ignorant twit doesn't recognize, is that this is what women in the US basically dealt with in their lives. Christian women. Like her.

So here in the States, when we discovered that my 98-year-old father's Muslim health aide from Nigeria had stolen his clothes and wasn't bathing him, I wasn't surprised.

And so, she testifies about the American Hellhole.

We are lectured by Democrats that we must privilege third-world immigration by the hundred million with chain migration. They tell us we must end America as a white, Western, Judeo-Christian, capitalist nation – to prove we are not racist. I don't need to prove a thing.

Nope, you've already proven it, you sniveling, entitled snob. It's reassuring to see that the "ugly American" is still alive and well. I'm sure she used her influence to get the Peace Corps job, so now it is on her resume.

Assuming that she is a real person at all.

And if you think she is just a naif writing about her experience, check this out:
