Go Giants!

first game has yet to be played and their season is over. Bumgarner got drilled in his pitching hand today, out for likely half the season at least.

Shark has pec strain. Everyday players are all on the wrong side of 30.

PETE LEE: WHAT I LOVE MORE THAN BASEBALL

The only thing I love more than the sport of baseball is absolutely pissing off all my buddies when I'm watching it with them. I was watching the game last week, I was like, 'Oh my God, dudes, the catcher is totally flirting with the pitcher.'

I know that we're talking baseball but if there ever was a “slam dunk” it’s my bet with Greg Crouch. He better start adding to his piggy bank...no two buck chuck allowed.

Jim, at least Ohtani can pronounce ‘two buck chuck’.

The only thing that's a sure thing this season, Jim, is that Albert Pujols is going to lead the world in GDIP.

Only if the first base coach has chips and dip.

Yo, Jimbo, you dancing a jig like the Angels’ management? Yer boy, the ‘Babe Ruth of Japan’,
got a hit yesterday! He was all over an 88 mph fastball, for a single. 😳

That brought his numbers up to .125 (4 fer 32)! Definitely Sultan of What numbers, eh?
To be fair he does have an RBI. LOL

headlines say "beloved Met", although I'll always consider him first and foremost an Expo. 23 years in the bigs. old school ball player, hard to find his type anymore

he was hit by a pitch from future teammate George Stone of the Atlanta Braves,[10] fracturing his right wrist. He played through the pain for several weeks until X-rays revealed the broken bone.[11][12] Surgery was required

He, Ty Cobb, Alex Rodriguez and Gary Sheffield share the distinction of being the only players to hit home runs before turning 20 years old, and after turning 40 years old.

Kershaw’s gopher ball is still working well it would seem. Pretty funny that he went 2 for 2.

Pretty cool to meet Barry Bonds yesterday at the hotel bar I manage. He sat and watched the second half of the game over dinner. Friendly relaxed dude. Great season opener. Not so sure The Giants will be able shut out Dodger Blue too often this year but we’ll take what we can get.

Arizona has a bullpen cart in 2018. Rad!

I'm pretty close to a baseball purist -- grudgingly accept the DH (in the AL only, no encroachment into the NL), hate mascots and the idea of league expansion to crappy cities with no baseball pedigree, e.g. -- but this HAS TO COME BACK

Just because they beat Da Bums? You do know that Dodger hitters all have a choice of
taking Prozac or having a lobotomy?

Reilly: After 3 errors at the position last night, Dodgers are looking at Matt Kemp to fill in until Justin Turner returns from his broken wrist.

Tad: We came in 4th at the GeezerBall Worlds... in an epic collapse, we go into the last inning tied... we are on fire and score 13 runs for a commanding lead. Score was something like 11 to 11 going into that inning. They come up in the bottom of the 7th and score 14 to win the game and send us home instead of to the Championship game. I don't think we even got an out! UNHOLY LOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

InnerCity: That sort of confidence sounds like you might be in a betting mood???
looks easy from here

Doesn't seem unreasonable since Panik's on pace for 162 home runs. ;D

I'm sad to see the election apparently ran Apogee off. I was hoping to razz him about the start to this season.
