The orange Camp pitons first appeared in 1976, so no earlier than 1976.

On the Army pitons if they are covered with black tar, clean them off and there may appear a ink wordage of what year they were made. The flat vertical blades usually were inked.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe those old army pins are actually coated with cosmoline.
Was a fairly common anti-rust agent back in the day...

I think someone in Corsica has had his fill of Me'?
Ok! /:-\

I've got only so much ~ I've, about showed everything I have of any intrest @ least 3 times by now.

Nutstory,
I hope to be able to show the most mundane of my 'collection' which is no collection,
just some plastic bins with all. Sorts of free climbing gear,
old straight sided nuts with a red kind of plastic on the loop, clip-end,
M not sure if I've got a picture on file .

I should take a real inventory.

I've had my #3 HB Brass offset go missing. It is a small piece that is replaceable.
Other pieces fill the void in my small wires.
But the quirks that are unique to each climber !
This one missing, favored piece!?
It spooks me. In an 'EveL 'Klingy' way;
somewhere some how I've given it away ?

The riddle, not meant for anyone is just a testament you see I saw
& that I got your message
