Obama leaves the country 10 trillion dollars more in debt then when he took office, doubling the national debt.
this is a typical uniformed attempt to deflect blame away from the Republicans
watch closely
In 2010 the Republicans took over majority control of the spending arm of the Federal government, the House of Representatives. They have been in control of that ever since, ok?
now, per our Constitution all government spending must be voted on to become law by the House, therefore since 2010 it is the Republican House that has voted on and approved into law virtually all of that 10 trillion, understand now?
next, try real, real hard to get that government spending is not the same your household spending
next, tell me what are the negative consequences of the tremendous debt the Republicans have spent?
could it be sharply rising interest rates?
no, because then how do you explain why interest rates are at virtually the lowest level in US history?
and because they are, President Obama has been able to overcome the House Republicans spending by refinancing all of our debt to now very cheap repayment levels
so next time you think you are taking a shot, get the facts first to avoid embarrassing yourself

A key value that shaped me from early on, interestingly as a quote in a poster of a backcountry bigwall somewhere, is this:
"Success is not measured by heights attained, but by obstacles overcome." By this measure I consider Obama's presidency an incredible success. The first two years was all about immediate reaction to impending economic doom, and by the time he could shift focus to something else, fickle America blamed him and Democrats in general for the economic problems and ushered in a wave of folks that sunk most possibilities of sincerely trying any policy he championed.

yes, we will miss him, and these are his results, not feelings:
A higher black on black murder rate
"you can keep your doctor"
Lower black employment even if he altered the way the stat is measured
"you can keep your health plan"
Lower black teen employment
The guy used the IRS to target his enemies.
lower net worth for blacks per capita.
Lower percentage of black home ownership.
Disrespect for the constitution and the free market capitalism that has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.
His anti semitic posture toward Israel, went golfing instead of meeting with Netanyahu.
His coddling of terrorists and cash payment of ransom, for a deserter.
Circumvention of the rule of law by executing an agreement with a foreign country which legally was a treaty with the need for congressional review and approval.. he did it on his own, and happily all the other acts bordering on illegal, will all be easily undone.
His near endorsement of the assassination of police officers.
70,000 dead Iraqis, including friends of mine.
Aleppo.. oops! note the red line in the sand?? hmmm, no one else did.
South China Sea...?
Ukraine..?
the existence of ISIS, don't tell me you forgot when he dismissed them as "JV," and assured they were not a threat.
His inability to identify our enemy, or even speak the words; Islamic Terrorists.
Can you possibly acknowledge these are all lapses of judgement with results that have and will cost lives?
Yeah, we should really miss this guy.

Barack Obama
I'm as proud of the man today as the the day he took office. It's hard for me to watch the news anymore or wax on the political debates...when I see business associates I know so enthralled by the new administration I can't see any possible way for us to go beyond the polarization. So many people only see in black and white.
I see only one color, red, the blood that courses through the veins of all we humans. We are all the same but our divisive nationalism is criminal. There is only one tribe anymore, the Homo sapiens tribe. Divisiveness is our suicide gene, worse than any bomber.
Barack Obama is a dreamer. All men of great vision and genius are dreamers. His visions were carrying us forward. I come to these conclusions through a lifetime of observance. Not by what any one news organization or media source tells me. Weighing the pros and cons of every report and photo, I connect the dots by way of intuition, theory, and facts. After time, it becomes less difficult to read sincerity, intent, and integrity in a person.
Yet we are not mind readers. We can never know what truly lies in another person's heart. But, I have felt as close to President Obama in like vision and direction as of any presidents of our recent past. He inspires those who would allow themselves to be inspired. Unlike the direction of hate which is the mantra of the new president, whose name comes more bitterly off my lips with every utterance. This man's legacy of hate will only lead to more destruction.
Former President Obama is a man of vision and hope. His legacy will stand.

Gary,
free market capitalism has in fact raised more people out of poverty than any other system.....
Communism lowers lifestyle because it lowers productivity.. before the Berlin Wall came down who had a better lifestyle? east or west? I have been to Leipzig six times and watched them recover, how many times have you been to what was eastern Germany?
Where do you want to buy a car from? Germany or Russia? North or south Korea? Japan or China?
Or you can take the real costs of total governmental power
Hitler 6.1 million Jews, everybody knows that, he also killed 1.3 million Germans.
Stalin killed more than 35 million, the real number may be 55.
Mao may have exceeded that.
How do you explain the differences between North and South Korea?
Certainly not with a conclusion that capitalism is bad for the people.
I get that you do not trust corporations, ok, so why then, would you trust the biggest "corporation" of all?.. Government.

Communism lowers lifestyle because it lowers productivity..
Then how did the Soviets outproduce the Nazis in WWII?
The world is run on capitalist principals. Yet the vast majority of the world lives in abject poverty.
http://www.bbc.com/news/business-35339475
The richest 1% now has as much wealth as the rest of the world combined, according to Oxfam.
Pope Francis on capitalism:
“This system is by now intolerable: farm workers find it intolerable, laborers find it intolerable, communities find it intolerable, peoples find it intolerable. The earth itself – our sister, Mother Earth, as Saint Francis would say – also finds it intolerable.”
http://www.globalresearch.ca/poverty-chains-and-global-capitalism-towards-a-global-process-of-impoverishment/5536710
Contemporary global capitalism is characterized by extreme wealth concentration and a rapidly expanding and largely impoverished global labour force. Mainstream institutions such as the World Bank and International Labour Organization encourage integration into global value chains as a development strategy that, they claim, will reduce poverty. In reality, employment within these chains generates new forms of worker poverty and contributes to global wealth concentration. That is why they should be labelled global poverty chains.
Global inequality has never been greater. For example, the wealth of the world’s richest 62 people, who between them have more wealth than half of the world’s population, rose by 44 per cent between 2010 and 2015. Over the same period the wealth of the bottom 50 per cent of humanity fell by approximately 38 per cent.
Very large numbers, perhaps the majority, of the world’s labour force is poor. In 2010 there were approximately 942 million working poor (almost 1 in 3 workers globally living on under $2 [U.S.] a day). However, these figures are a significant underestimate.
