you know i gotta say... trump is exceeding all of my expectations.

no longer do we have to wonder whether or not those quarter million dollar paid speeches might be a conflict of interest and whether they might affect a bureaucrat's policy decisions...

no longer do we have to wonder whether or not hope and change was manipulated into an increase in drone strikes and a socialization of corporate losses not as an intention but as a prudent and necessary response to the rethuglican power base.

while it remains to be seen whether trump will succeed in making america great again... i'll give him the following: he certainly is making the curtains match the carpet.

no more track pants and wife beater cover-ups:

the beer gut is now hanging out in all of its glory...

the "remember the waffen ss" tattoo found on the lower back is there for all to see...

the coke nail and chain with glass vial hanging around their neck is worn with panache...

and most importantly their graduate of "buzzard's river elementary school" 8th grade diploma is proudly displayed in isolation over their desk.

because here's what we've got so far:

1. a climate denier running the epa
2. a fast food exec running the labour portfolio
3. an oil exec who wears a friendship bracelet given to him by putin as secretary of state
4. a texan simpleton who couldn't remember that the department he wanted to eliminate was the department of energy now running the department of energy
5. a bureaucratic neophyte who only weeks ago said he didn't have the experience to take a cabinet post now running housing and urban development
6. a new cia director that believes snowden should be executed and that those in the cia who participated in torture were heroes
7. a former goldman sachs exec and hedge funder known as "the foreclosure king" running finance

shIt i don't know if i have the stomach to keep going... oh well... better finish what i started...

8. "amnesty's worst enemy" as attorney general
9. a billionaire known as "the king of bankruptcy" heading up commerce
10. "100% pro lifer" and opponent of planned parenthood running health and human services
11. the sister of the founder of blackwater and daughter in law of one of the founders of amway and another bureaucratic neophyte heading up education
12. another billionaire and an exec behind america's favorite home grown kabuki theatre the wwe [aka wwf] running small business
13. mr. "fear of muslims is rational" as national security advisor
14. and finally last but not least mr. "[i created a] platform for [the hate found in] the alt-right" as chief strategist...

you know DMT, i have to admit i'm pretty shocked by your attempt at equivalency: "So anyway, I'm appalled at some of the Trump cabinet picks. But I would have been appalled at some of Clinton's picks too, I'm sure."

have you actually taken a look at the whole list? and if you have, do you think you would be appalled by even a tenth of clinton's picks if she was in office, as i'm assuming [/hoping] you must be by trumps' picks?

cause just fUckin wow.

trump is proving to be the most incredible of naked lunches: the frozen moment when everyone [gets to see] what is on the end of every fork.

i'm interested to see the public's response as the inevitable results of the american leadership's wholehearted embrace of neo-fascism becomes manifest...

^^^^

just to clarify as i can now see how i might have unintentionally been confusing...

the "just fUckin wow" was not directed at you...

it was directed at trump's cabinet picks.

while i was mildly surprised and even "pretty shocked" by your statement, it certainly wasn't "just fUckin' wow" worthy... :)

peace.

It will be interesting to see where this goes--will there be real political resistance, and if so how far will that go.

I don't think so. Paul Ryan seems giddy with the power the republicans have. He can't do anything to piss off the trump supporters.

Edit: now that Romney got played, will he keep his mouth shut and toe the party line?

Whatever, Robert L, you seem to know it all.

EDIT

Not trying to be dismissive of you Robert L. You have some good points, but as far as the Falklands crisis is considered, do a bit more homework.

It seems that you are a Trump supporter, that is fine with me, at least we have a point we can disagree on. Time will tell, I know that may sound simple to you. He may be the best president ever, at least he says he will be. I do not take that view.

Do you think it will be different than the fascism our politicians have been pursuing for the last 30 years or so? Your comment would imply that fascism is new to our country, the liberals have been following much of the tenets of Mussolins fascism and Hitler's national socialism for some time now.

A rose by any other name...... you know why you have to use the "neo" modifier right?

Esco, despite your silly avatar name of shotgun, you are not as stupid as it appears.

As an aside, I'd love to climb in Idaho. Elephant's Perch looks choice. After I win the Euromillions, or my next novel advance is in seven figures, or until I break the piggy bank, I can afford a road trip to the Sawtooths. Maybe Fritz and you and I can put aside politics and climb together. I can still lead, "shakily" 5.11. Watch me...!!! Tension.

nah000- I read your list, nice post. Did you get the WWF lady in your list? It was apparently very important to represent that crowd in our government. I can't wait for her to hit a lazy liberal bureaucrat over the head with a folding chair.

We know who Trump and his supporters are, we should not be surprised by anything at this point. Now watch in slow motion as the media and an unengaged, cavalier society allow the lines between rampant abuse, extortion and cronyism and propagandistic blameshifting merge to a degree unseen in American history.

Didn't vote- both are puppets. 99 percent of the us people are in the peasant class. While the people bicker the 1 percent cash out. And sadly are doing so in increasingly brazen murdeous ways

The incoming government is very worried about the environment - particularly it's relationship to security and the economy.

Honestly? From where do you get this impression?

It’s Hard To Overstate How Anti-Environment Donald Trump’s Cabinet Picks Are

The neo-liberals and neo-right have been working towards their goal for quite a while now--all the power and wealth concentrated on a pin head. They've gotten to the point where they can pull back the curtains, no longer is there a need for them to cover their intentions. In chess, it's called the "end game."

Paddy, I agree completely with Robert's assessment that the Argentines thought Maggie was
bluffing. They bet the house with a pair of deuces and got schooled. When we were there a
few years ago I was queued behind an older Argentine gent wearing a Belgrano hat. I was
tempted to say something but decided to let him keep thinking whatever fantasy he wanted.

Besides the Emoluments Clause, it's time to familiarize
ourselves with the Stock Act. This is another legal/ethical minefield for trump.

As conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin explains:

Adding yet another twist, the director tells Carper that the 2012 STOCK ACT bars the president from in essence using inside information to benefit himself. (“The STOCK Act bars the President from: using nonpublic information for private profit; engaging in insider trading; participating in an initial public offering; intentionally influencing an employment decision or practice of a private entity solely on the basis of partisan political affiliation; and participating in a particular matter directly and predictably affecting the financial interests of any person with whom he has, or is negotiating for, an agreement of future employment or compensation.”)
...

When Trump talks to his children on a daily basis, does anyone think he won’t mention matters that will be of use to them in managing the family business? Every Trump Organization action that seems to anticipate economic or political developments will be a prima facie case of presidential misconduct. The appearance that the president is feeding information to his kids will be impossible to dispel

"Drain the swamp" lol.
