The prospect of a Trump presidency, with both the Senate and House in Republican control, is like watching the rise of the Third Reich.
I'm honestly sympathetic with you on that. But I also don't think it's going to be as bad as all that. Here's why.
Trump is not a "Republican," and as recently as this morning leading Repubs were eviscerating him, distancing themselves from him, and saying that they would never support him. I believe that a Trump president will find that he's facing a quite unfriendly Congress, NOT "his" Congress. They are not going to go with just any of his shenanigans.
Oh, sure, Obamacare would be in danger, and the lib agenda will be set back quite a bit. But it's not going to be anything like fascism.

He will place a huge entrance fee on every park and add condos for his fiends.

Wouldn't it be funny if CBS was the only one getting it right at this stage?
In a way, this has been a case study in media credibility. LOL

This Failed Democracy...not looking so good at present.
I once believed in this country. But the prospect of a Trump presidency has me totally pissed.
The entire Sorenson branch in the Sacramento area has looked to me, the patriarch, and asked that we take them with us if Trump wins.
Now it looks like my wife and I will probably have to sell our home, my daughter has to sell her home, my son has to pack up and move with his disabled invalid wife, and our entire family branch has to find a new nation to live in.
Even more complicated is that one grandson is dead set and ready to join the Air Force in the spring and I don't want to abandon him here. This is such a downer, I'm still in shock and totally conflicted about it.
We all refuse to live in a country where the majority of voters have become bigots, racists, gun toting militant homophobes, and white supremacist pinheads. This sucks so hard we can't believe it.
We've worked our whole lives to build a future for ourselves, our kids, and grandkids. If that maniacal misogynist jackass has his clutches on the nuclear codes the idiot populace of the U.S. who are responsible for this might only survive long enough to briefly regret it.
I only regret not better preparing my family for the eventuality of having to abandon our homeland and become immigrants in a foreign land. I could not have predicted a more nightmare scenario.
Tobin had the right idea, shortly before he died, when he told me he was planning to become a Canadian citizen. I never talked much with anyone about it, but he mentioned to me back in 1980 that he'd lost all faith in our leadership and political process after Vietnam, Nixon, and the assassinations of so many of our progressive minded leaders. I should have paid a lot more attention to his instincts.

while i might not use quite the same language, that all three have swung rethuglican should be disturbing to almost anyone, no matter what their stance... having all three seats of power in the same hands has almost never been good in the long run... even if it's "your side".

and if you look at the breakdown regarding why nytimes is projecting the presidency, the senate, and the house, all going red it does look like it is going to take a miracle for this to not be a done deal.
