"“You know what Scottie?” Navarro said. “Don’t tell me you’re offended when I say p---y, but you’re not offended when Donald Trump says it. I’m not running for president; he is. Don’t act outraged and offended when I say the word when you’re not offended by the man you’re supporting. That’s absurd.”"

I can't think of anyone - Republican or Democrat - saying such a thing.

Agreed, about humans in general, I'd say. We don't say it about ourselves. We condemn other people for belief processes and behaviors that we forgive in ourselves, or our "team." I do think that we all do that the same. IMHO, maybe if we said it more about ourselves, we'd gain the humility to develop a better understanding of others.

But our evolved psychological tendency to approve of ourselves is usually too strong for us to overcome. And we're clever enough to latch on to little subtle differences in fact patterns that allow us to explain it in a way in which we can approve of ourselves for it, while condemning others. Damn evolution!

If the fact pattern had been that there was no open mic, we might believe differently.

Here is some thinking which I think is going on: Everybody was embarrassed by Bill Clinton's behavior in office. Everyone.

No one cares to see a repeat, and there has been some legitimate unease about having Bill back in the White House. He will have a lot of power, although not that of the Presidency.

But now we are confronted with the possibility of someone being given that power who could easily act far worse than Bill. Trump, as CEO, could require stunning looking women be his subordinates/security/communications officers.

However, the President is not involved in personnel decisions about working people, unless he/she has a direct conflict. (usually SS, I'd imagine).

It is easy to see Trump requiring that all women working in the White House with whom he might come in contact be vetted for attractiveness. Same for military assigned to the WH.

After all, why would he not want to create the ultimate target-rich environment. Can you imagine him kissing young women military aides instead of saluting them??

And for chrissake, quit saying both sides do it. It's a lazy, sloppy response, and irrelevant. I can't think of anyone--republican or democrat--saying such a thing.

Hey dirtbag.
It was a private conversation that was taped over a hot mike.
It absolutely is both sides and "non-partisans" see it clearly for what it is.
It was your party that implied a Mitt Romney high school prank from decades earlier disqualified him for high office. How do you feel about that now?

Patrick,
I'm not a Trump supporter, as I have posted many times, but Hillary partisan's see anyone not supporting her to be a Trump supporter.
I'm just sayin it's all politics.
I'm also calling Hillary a corrupt politician, and Trump a blowhard narcissist.
Sanders is a deluded socialist, and Johnson appears to be a truth telling but forgetful stoner.
Are you proud of your candidate?
Personally I think good decent "leaders" shy away from the sewer of DC politics.

Gotta go, carry on.

Now I am very interested in tomorrow's debate. The questions will not be from Moderators, which could likely be assumed to be on the big issues facing our country.....they will come from individual citizens. You can't help but wonder if Trump will start yelling at voters for asking "inappropriate questions?"

You can be sure that he'll claim that the group, made up of undecided voters, will be claimed to all be plants.

I think it is going to be a slaughter.

Realisticaly RNC will demand trump to step down, they will put pence in as their cannidate and pence is much more dangerous in the general election INMOP than trump simply because he appears to be somewhat normal despite the fact that he is a Repuglican.

I don't think that you can make the veep candidate the presidential candidate unless the presidential candidate dies.

Hillary may become president by fiat.

It is too late for the GOP. Face it. They created Trumpenstien because of their inability to put forth any meaningful alternatives to the Obama presidency, even after 8 years. His approval rating is still rising while the GOP implodes. They need to accept the responsibility for putting that oaf at the top of the ticket.

Now they wasted the last few months putting ALL their wood behind the "demonize Hillary" arrow. They don't have enough time left to punt and start another drive at this point, even if Chump bails. If he doesn't bail, it is certain defeat.

Edit

The first thing Trump better do tomorrow night is fall to his knees and beg forgiveness. But he won't. He will double down on the demonize Slick Willie tactic, and the whole thing will turn into an episode of Jerry Springer.

Trump IS the republican party. I'm sure many people remember the pro-business, slightly hawkish party from back in the day but it's pretty much ignorant bigots now. When is the last time the house has passed legislation with some reasonable probability of passing and being signed? Budgets are just continuing resolutions after a yearly hissy fit thrown over whatever the "base" happens to be pissed off about because some mouth breather on A.M. radio says they should be. All they care about is bashing gay people and tax cuts. Now, with Trump, they don't even bother hiding the racism anymore.

Melania Trump: Donald's words are 'unacceptable and offensive to me'
OCT. 8, 2016, 12:10 P.M.

Melania Trump issued a statement Saturday in support of her husband:

"The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me. This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world. "
