Co-host Robin Quivers then asked Trump if sleeping with the contestants (of the Miss Universe pageant) could be construed as a conflict of interest.

"It could be a conflict of interest," Trump said. "But, you know, it's the kind of thing you worry about later, you tend to think about the conflict a little bit later on."

To be fair he is joking around on a show that purposefully tries to get people to let their guard down and talk dirty. Some people are disgusted by it, many fascinated while also being shocked and afraid to breach the taboos, but he seems to revel in it, enjoying that type of banter. That in itself is not indictable, but it is certainly indecorous for someone looking to hold the mantel of responsibility to represent the full spectrum of people in a country. He might be baiting like an immature teen in a locker room trying to look cool in front of the other kids. But the fact that he values that and considers it as a way to get more attention and appreciation from other people... It shows very clearly that he can't have our collective interests at heart or even act in a business-like fashion to fight for our interests if they conflict with what he personally has to gain or lose.

On the one hand he is shameless about it, so not as at-risk for sex-related blackmail as some people... on the other hand, he'd probably shut down Yellowstone and sell the mining rights or geothermal power generation if the corporate lobbyist was a babe. Or he might give nukes to Iran and Iraq in exchange for an epic threesome, and rationalize it as "they'll just kill each other and we'll take their oil and it will be great."

I can see a conundrum for folks that really think of abortion as an amoral murder and they have to vote Republican because that issue seems more sacred than anything else to them. At what point, if ever do these other transgressions rise up enough to outweigh the abortion issue? That seems to be a serious loophole in our democratic process if nothing a person can do would eliminate them from consideration as long as they say "ban abortions". More than a few must have been had by partners of The Donald.

I had a brief fantasy about Bernie coming back and beating Hillary and Trump in a general (without thinking about legal issues of getting on a ballot), but even if this could happen, the number of ignorant a-hole chauvinist xenophobic white men that still exalt trump (perhaps more so because of all this sex and female denigration stuff) might be too scarily large.

Don't sit out the election. I was idealistic before in thinking that a vote for Hillary is still a vote for the slow erosion into the destruction of our society through the growing power of corporations. While this may be the end state, I want as many good years as we can get, and Hillary certainly has a bunch of good stuff along with the parts I don't like. Fighting the good fight to uphold one's beliefs for long term stability of our civilization is one thing... but we also need to be practical about the options before us now and not shirk our responsibilities.

Please vote your conscience. I still have faith that the more people do this, the smaller the chance we have of getting stuck with The Donald.

really should ditch both nominees and go with sanders vs pence.

I like the way you think Tradmanclimbs...my Fantasy Presidential race match up would be...

Bernie Sanders & Liz Warren

VS

Ana Navarro & Bill Weld

At the end of the day, this is the most pathetic presidential race in my lifetime. What a sad commentary on our society, culture, and political system.

My fantasy race would be to take one of the most qualified persons in the country, preferably a woman, someone admired by both Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren (who spoke enthusiastically for her at the Dem convention) vs some idiot put up by the GOP who can't win, thus ensuring a progressive Dem president for at least the next 4 years.

Hey, wait!

Hillary is talking about real issues, tradman. Try listening.

Elizabeth Warren is...
Warren said unlike the Republican candidates, Clinton and Feingold believe in eliminating college loan debt, supporting unions, raising the minimum wage, combating climate change, protecting and expanding social security and treating all races equally.

"Hillary Clinton’s agenda and Russ Feingold’s agenda isn’t just a Democratic agenda," Warren said. "It is a Wisconsin agenda, it is an American agenda.

Bernie Sanders is..
BANGOR — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday urged a crowd of more than 500 people at the Cross Insurance Center to vote for Hillary Clinton for president next month.
Sanders said that Clinton would implement many of the policies he promoted during his campaign including improving the nation’s infrastructure as a way to employ more Americans, working with scientists to stem the impact of climate change, and improving access to higher education.

Ana Navarro is...
Despite being a Republican, Navarro told the crowd that she will be voting for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the election against Donald Trump

Bill Weld is...
Apparently he avoided acknowledging that his new mission amounts to working to make Hillary Clinton president. He pointed out that he disagrees with Clinton on fiscal and military issues, though last week on MSNBC he said he’s “not sure anybody is more qualified than Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States.”

Crankster, you're spot-on regarding Hillary Clinton. That people can continue to bad-mouth her after 40 Years of exemplary committed public Service just blows me away. It just shows how little the public knows and how great its need is to unthinkingly run with the herd. Keep the charge, buddy.

No question Hillary's talking about real issues and I will reluctantly vote for her next month but I'm not enthusiastic about a continuation of the Clinton dynasty, especially considering their ties to financial institutions and Hillary's role in the Libya catastrophe. I'm sure the Clinton's are already working out where Bill's office will be in the West Wing.

I have to admit this presidential race has been entertaining and tragic at the same time...who would have predicted that the October Surprise would be the release of a taped conversation between Trump and one of Bush's cousins about grabbin' bush ?

and for that statement Navarro has gained my respect.

Hillary is our next President but she's a mainstream politico from the southern democrat and New York democratic machine. You don't get more mainstream than Hillary. Everyone agrees right?

F*#k Chump. But the mainstream is a conservative position entrenched in the military industrial finance megalomania. It's gunna be more war, more pipelines and more Wall Street /Dubai Mercantile looting. You can't make that go away. I'm not supporting Chump when I call out The Hillary.

well put Flip Flop ^^^

the US regime change, misadventure in Libya was Hillary's brainchild. Up until that time, Obama pretty much ran the State Dept out of the Oval Office.

Both the NeoCons & the NeoLiberals share responsibility for the current situation in Iraq, Libya, & Syria and the emergence of ISIS. Only time will tell whether Hillary, once in the Oval Office, will demonstrate that she has learned from her mistakes.

The nonsense in Syria is on Obama. He and Clinton still support the "rebels" causing mass chaos in what is supposed to be a sovereign nation. How many times do we need to fail at regime change to learn to not repeat the same mistake? Or does the fact Obama carried on with bush's legacy of "nation building" mean the change of pres is all a farce anyway

Regime change has been embraced by both NeoCons & NeoLiberals for the same reason.... create more opportunities for multi-national corporations and financial institutions while falsely claiming that it is being done in the name of freedom and democracy.
