Yes, exactly. Radical Islam uses religion, as much as it has to do with political ideology. They twist it into a political ideology.

I actually dont think this was about Radiohead at all. It was about drinking booze during ramadan.
I do think radiohead has leveraged it for some handy promotion tho, yknow, now that their best stuff seems behind them and they spiral into mediocrity. Gotta keep the uni students feeling smugly radical somehow eh.

It just makes it so much easier when racists publicly declare themselves and self-identify. No wondering if it was just a momentary lapse or deciding if they were just being insensitive - nope, clearly a bigot and racist. Now if the other 59.999% of the republican party could be similarly honest we could just get on with it with everything at least honest and above board. Ignorance never sleeps, especially bigotry for god - and that's different than ISIS how?

The failure of Americans to understand Islam is, I feel, due their belief that everyone thinks as they do. They don't. Muslims want their laws to be Gods laws as interpreted by theologians like Ayatollah Khomeini, not a written law like the US constitution. That's why generally, it's a terribly stupid idea to invite Muslims from the middle into our country to be citizens. Their loyalty will be different than ours. Always. Not talking "ALL", talking "many" Muslims.
Perhaps the preeminent mideast scholar in the world, Bernard Lewis, came up with the phrase, "Clash of Civilizations" popularized by Fattrad here on ST before he was axed. (which Lewis later modified to be less harsh sounding).

If the problem were "Book of Fables B", read by billions, the entire world would be on fire.
Focus on those who use these differing beliefs to create violence for their agendas.

Come on up to Reno during street vibrations and have a sample. Next biggest gathering of this crap outside of sturgis. Always a mess, always a majority of them arrogant, unruly, with complete disregard for the city that welcomes their stupid asses. Always biker gang violence that does not get media coverage, (street vibrations brings a lot of money to town you know), violent crimes of all sorts for that matter.
Ive been harassed, chased, spat at by these pieces of sh#t for merely being on the road at the same time as them, and then working in the trauma unit, had to help keep them alive after their shenanigans landed them at the level 2 trauma center.
And I cant put an aftermarket exhaust that is the same dB level as stock on my subaru.....
Ive taken care of the po bobs, the mongols, the vagos, hell angels, branded, all of em....becuase i had to by law.
Even worse are the 'everyday people' that ride that get all outlaw when the gathering is on, they really get a surge of rebel and go all apey.
Its people.
Everything that the above list has in common is people. People have a streak of meanness, selfishness, ignorance, hatefulness that has to be overcome.
The main way we do that is one person at a time. Everyone has to learn to take responsibility for their own inner pissant.
People on this forum got all agro and aggressive because I said I might not vote and that I didn't like Hillary.
Shades of the inner pissant. ( Perhaps I should write a book with that title.. haha )

Well, we just killed 21 civilians in Syria with an airstrike. At least it gives Muslim haters something to cheer about. Those little kids would've just grown up to be suicide bombers anyway...
