Damn, I loved his irreverent input and his gut check on all of our alleged sanity.

Werner must be abiding.
He wouldn't be in hiding.
Maybe he got a chiding.
Now he's on a siding.

Whatever, he abides.

In a twisted way Werner made the most sense of any of the regular daily posters on this site. His knowledge of climbing in the " ditch" is bar none and he was not afraid to call it how "he" sees it. Peace out Werner.

A friend of mine loved doing that with a lighter, lead singer of DI.

Jeez, overwatch, haven't heard about D.I. in forever. Venus de Milo/EP release early '80s?

^*^ Herr Braun is in his seventies and he was still hanging' out on the ST? Now that is funny! At least it wasn't his late seventies.

WTF is this PC world coming to? Whether Werner left by choice, or the boot, this site is lesser for his loss and the other colorful characters recently preceding him.

On May 6, 2003, about six weeks after I started posting on ST, Werner welcomed me: "Hello Roger Breedlove Been a long time..."

That it has, my friend.

Yo Ekat, nice. And Kevin, don't know how to say this and I mean it respectfully, but it's better imho to say the negative when they are still around. lynnie

Hey Moose, no worries buddy. All of us get old. Some of us depart all too soon. But all of us depart. What's left behind is both a body of work and a aura. ST is but a small chunk of it, the largest part of our lives is left behind in those we love and whom love us. In that, you'll be fine. Someday we may both be so blessed to spend a bit of time with each other, mayhaps even tieing in and doing a pleasant lap up some fine cliff or outcrop. If not, it is but life, and I wish you well.

"Sorry, Couch, I didn't get your joke. I am just so tired trying to be active when my health is failing. I am losing that battle, which makes me over sensitive and cranky. I am becoming an old bitter fart and I hate that.

I know you are a good guy."

Kevin, Well, at least you spelled my name right. :) As for being PC I'm NOT. But you're right, you have the years and the mileage and what you accomplished is awesome.

I was skiing with hB and McKinney (well not really, but it makes the story better) one day, when he turns to me and says have you heard "Are You Experienced?" and I answered "well yes, but not yet today, then again I bet you haven't either".

And yes, now that he is on sabbatical, it can be told that the smoking duck idea actually derived from Kirby.
