His dream car was an '87 Westfalia, he dropped a turbo in it. It got 30 mpg, and regularly left hummers in the dust on mtn passes.
He makes my Lycra look good!

He went to the university of mars, and has the T shirt to prove it!
He is the most interesting man in the world.

Anyone have a cheap Japanese 4wd truck they would like to unload for a good cause? I'll name a new hundred foot roof crack after you!

made it home last night.

we got lucky on friday and saturday night. because other than those two nights the weather was crap. wind kicked up massive dust and then it started raining. Spent two nights at a hotel in Moab.

I was so concerned with dust I didn't take out my cameras so I have very few images.

I'll post what I have later.

I can't thank Aya, Matt and Terance enough for their hard work.

I busted my ass for three weeks prior to leaving trying to get things in order. Glad I spent that time but could have used another week to finalize. Maybe by Vedauwoo.

Exhausted but dang that was fun even with all the dust. And the food and company was excellent.

The best story I have is there was a guy that was camped at the spot below us. He got into a conversation with someone about SushiFest and that he always wanted to attended. The person he was talking to pointed out SushiFest was set up on the hill above him. He bee-lined it and joined up. Put a big smile on my face.

Doug thank you for al the work that you did before and after this and every other sushifest. The amount of work you do is ridiculous, and we probably don't even realize the half of it (and I WATCHED you toil your way through your pages of todo lists). Maybe some day I'll actually eat some sushi :)

Now, you need to go on vacation after that vacation!!!

PS We stayed at the RedStone inn in Moab - one of the few dog friendly places in town, and cheaper by like $50 a night than any other place. Hot tub, kitchenettes, laundry, super mountain biker friendly, outdoor gas grill, walking distance to the brewery, excellent staff - yeah the bathrooms are a bit dimly lit and the beds are a little lumpy and the sheets a little scratchy (or maybe that was just my sand scoured feet) but overall we had such a good night the first night that we said screw it and stayed for a second. Absolutely would recommend it.

Jaybro,

Great photo of Ed. What are you some kind of pro photographer or something? Really, it's incredible I think.

Doug.... sorry I missed this one, us working stiffs get locked into the cubes..... you Colorado folks are so lucky to have Nature feeding you, its the BEST.

Now if we can convince Nature to do a Sushi Fest - Shuteye, that would be very cool.... I would gladly pay $100/nite to pay for the fish and give some to the ASCA..... how about it?????????????

I have some pictures:

THANK YOU Nature and Aya and your support staff for an incredible meal, in a beautiful venue and wonderful people. How you pull it off fest after fest continues to astound me!

Thanks again, and it was nice to see you two have a moment of peace at dinner in town!

the weather was crap.

Yeah, I bailed and went to Mammoth. It sucked there as well. I like snow but HATE wind. It was blowing.

Good on you nature and folks.

SUPER sad I was unable to make it for this one! Would LOVE to have another gathering in the Fall. Late October/November would be perfect. All the IC events I was able to attend in the past were super fun.
