Augie and Frederic Duesenberg had been making race cars. Shortly after moving to Indianapolis, E.L. Cord, owner of Auburn, infused money and the brothers made 30 or so chasis with drive trains per year, and authorized 5 different coach builders to complete the projects. The Duesenbergs did have a stipulation, they test every car before delivery at the track, to make sure they achieved a minimum 110 miles per hour. That was quite something considering the last year of production, was 1937.

This is Sam Mann's one of a kind roadster, the most beautiful car, i have ever seen. Taken on the Duesenberg Club Tour September 2016, Upper Peninsula, Michigan.

not a car, but so cool..

When he started racing, Stirling could not afford to take a mechanic, and his wife to a race.

So she went to transmission school, so that she, could be his mechanic, and they did not need to be apart.

cool that she did that, cool that they have had a marriage where they always have wanted to be together, and cool for me to hear the story while hanging out on the patio, a year before this photo.
both are generous, happy, and kind people, and some might say Stirling, was the best driver.

1932 Duesenberg race car.

Whitefish Point Lighthouse is likely the last land the crew on the Edmund Fitzgerald saw.

The Porsche above is as cool and classical as it can possibly get.

Here's an other one, nearly as cool as the one above...
