To the left of Roger Breedlove in the above pic may be George Meyers, I will never forget meeting him. We were between sessions down in Modesto stocking up. The students are about to arrive and we were waiting for Doug Robinson, one of the guides, to get back down from the Valley. The doorbell rings and here is some long haired hippy freak standing there saying that Doug had injured his thumb on the Royal Arches and he was the replacement. Royal who was picky about his guides was a bit taken aback but had no choice but to accept him as it was to late to do otherwise, but at the end of the week said that Doug had shown extremely good judgement in his choice.

Dick, where were the above shots taken? The rock is pretty unusual looking.... trees look like the Sierra but wondering where?

Funny story about Doug not showing because of an injury.

Doug and I have been great friends for my entire adult life, but I gotta tell ya, he not only has a hard time showing up on time, he can show up days or weeks late.

I don't think that I've ever seen him wearing a watch. We used to kid him about this, but it was true.

Tamara, the top two photos were taken near Wrights Lake just north of highway 50 a little ways east of Lovers Leap. The bottom two are on Dear John Buttress the crag adjacent to Lovers Leap on the east.
Edit; I thought you were referring to the photos I submitted. Of the ones you submitted I will concur with Rick and H, and the bottom one is near shuteye or the balls.

Hi Tamara.
On this page the top picture looks like 90 f00t wall in Emerald Bay Tahoe, 2nd photo looks like Lovers leap (hwy 80 in the middle right and the dikes give it away), don't know about the 3rd, but the last looks like Roaches by Pinecrest. He introduced me to you there at an AAC annual event.

Great shots. Love em. Keep them coming!

Sorry to interject, but the topmost photo is of the Ninety Foot Wall in Eagle Creek Canyon above Tahoe's Emerald Bay. The second photo is of Dear John Buttress-perhaps what later became Stone Cold Crazy 5.12c.

Great stuff Tamara, nice work!

Roger, is that one of the practice aid ladder/bolt shot at Boulder Garden Slab area in Southern Yosemite, in other words, the boulders out in front of the slab?

Munge, and Roger,

The second pic Roger posted is most definitely at the base of Boulder Garden Slab at the Balls.

Tamara!
This is awesome - sharing these photos! I begged Roger and Dick to share some pics from the Rockcraft days a handful of years ago, but your post has worked wonders in this regard!

Really neat to see shots of activity in the Southern Yosemite area back then. Many look like up atop Shuteye Ridge - Queens Throne area (like many of Rogers) - but local experts can verify exactly where on some of yours.

The b/w group shot john bald posted from Advanced Rockcraft is at the base of Hawk Dome next to Fresno Dome.
I love it's caption: "The Great Southern Sierra Hinterlands Expedition, 1973", taken by Royal.

also, Dick and Roger, could you send me your contact info? much appreciated. And to the question of the Auto-bio, the answer is no. Perhaps it will be continued in an unorthodox fashion (in utter alignment with Dad's spirit).... but not in the format seen to date.
