He did quite a few of the FA's in Lancaster County where I grew up. I would love to meet him some day.
Is the road cut/train cut still open to climbing? It had a route that was a trad lead way BITD called 'Autumn Arch' that I led on gear before the bolts went in, circa 1981. I cannot remember the name of that climbing area. Right above and facing the Susquehanna River. Had to drive through someone backyard to get there.

I recall Hugh mentioning a local area called The Spire in conversation about climbing in the "Buck" as he put it. I did an FA in the Cochise Stronghold named the Buck Traverse with Tony Herr in 1982.
Tony told Hans and Hugh to find me in Yosemite when those two lads came out on their own which is how I hooked up with Hugh in the first place that same season.
