Do you copY? How many bad cops are there? Your guess is no better than anyone else's.

On the night of December 27, 1986, 20-year-old Cara Knott was driving south on Interstate 15 from her boyfriend's home in Escondido, California to her parents' home in El Cajon, when Peyer, who was on duty in a marked CHP patrol car, directed Knott to pull off the freeway on an isolated, unfinished off-ramp. It was later discovered that Peyer had also been harassing a number of other female drivers in the same area and pulling them over on the same off-ramp and was supposedly trying to pick them up as dates. In the Knott case, it was thought that the situation escalated to physicality when Knott threatened to report Peyer for his inappropriate actions. When he attempted to grab her she slashed and scratched his face. Peyer then bludgeoned her with his flashlight and strangled her with a rope. He then threw her body over the edge of an abandoned bridge where she fell into the brush below.

...

The first trial resulted in a hung jury. Upon retrial, testimony regarding a potential second suspect and a hearsay explanation for the defendant's scratches was ruled inadmissible, and Peyer was found guilty of murder, the first-ever conviction of murder by an on-duty CHP officer.[1] In 1988, Peyer was sentenced to 25 years to life.

After conviction, Peyer continued to claim his innocence. In 2004, Peyer was asked if he would contribute a sample of his DNA to a San Diego County program that was designed and initiated to use DNA samples to possibly exonerate wrongfully imprisoned persons, since at the time of his trial and conviction such testing was not yet available. Peyer refused to provide any DNA for the test. At a subsequent parole hearing in 2004, when asked why he wouldn't provide a DNA sample, Peyer refused to answer. The board denied his parole on the grounds of his lack of remorse for the crime as well as for his refusal to explain why he was saying he was innocent yet he would not let anyone help him prove it.

So I got to thinking about it a bit...

I'm a totally qualified idiot..quite often. I am endlessly, indefatigably capable of really stupid sh#t... Although I tend to pride myself more about my moments of occasional intelligence.

I am generally pretty damn happy with life.. I feel really lucky to be here.

So yeah

Thanks Jody..appreciate the well wishes.

Really? Is that how it works? Wow. Impressive.

Supertopo is a climbing forum thus lets talk about climbing.

Wrong. It is a "Climber's Discussion Forum".

Correct! Hanging out with Warren and the gang, climbing was not a topic often discussed, as I remember.

Fascinating rebuttal from a clinical perspective...

... so you would have been a janitor if the benefits were better?

Too bad your meaningless job doesn't have the benefits mine does.

Out of curiosity, how do you know that Todd Eastman's job is meaningless? Or at the least, meaningless to him? (Since we all do not find fulfillment or meaning in the same things.)

Jody,

clarification:

is 'you idiots' people who disagree with you or society in general?

if this infant was more 'courteous', I am sure he wouldn't be disabled for life. Little bugger was just asking for it, huh? Cops all walked and were congratulated by the DA for throwing a grenade into a crib.

And the promise of a good retirement helped me make that decision.

I'm sure you feel the same way about teachers, the public servants who have the same customer base, but can't dispose of the ones they disagree with as easily.

Look at the grief on this child's face.
Share this picture to put a spotlight on the
killing of police. This 9 year old child's father
is Louisiana State Police Senior Trooper Steven Vincent.
Trooper Vincent was murdered - executed - while on duty.
Today was the Trooper's funeral (and the Troopers son is
standing in the picture with Col Mike Edmonson who
gave the eulogy.

So you were in it for the money, and not to protect, and serve.

10b...no, to "Protect and Serve" was NOT why I initially joined. Growing tired of being a poor, starving college student is why I signed up. Once established in the career, "Protect and Serve" came to the forefront. The only reason I put up with fighting drunks and slipping on 15 year-old boys' brains on the roadway, etc., was because it supported my family well and I saw light at the end of the tunnel with retirement benefits. Otherwise, nobody in their right mind would put up with that crap. I seriously got way more joy out of helping a stranded driver in the middle of the desert on a 115 degree day get on their way than I did writing a 100+ mph speeding ticket or taking a drunk to jail.

If you had put this anecdote in the OP, the responses would have been a lot different. Jus sayin.

thanks for having been a good cop.

There is a reason you stopped posting to Supertopo: you have the cognitive skills of Bluering, but in your case we can't just chalk it up to too much etoh. You have temper tantrums, you're so oblivious to your own idiocy that you think anyone who angrily, but cogently, responds to one of your tantrums is themself an idiot--you make a fool of yourself with such dramatic flair.

Case in point:

Idiots....paint with a broad brush, disparage everyone who has a different point of view and are hopelessly inept in dealing with nuanced arguments.

You finally admitted what you are. That is exactly what you do. Thanks for being honest...finally.

Read my post to Norton...it applies to you too.

Your photos are great, but once you start typing . . . sheesh!

I suggest you keep your face in the real toilet bowls instead of, figuratively speaking, repeatedly having your nose shoved in your own shite, until you again depart in a humiliated, self-righteous huff.

If it were only a troll, it would be a pretty good one, but we know this really is the real you in all your vainglory.
