I saw that Glen Denny was at one of those shows. Has there been much turnout from people like him that actually climbed in Yosemite in the 50's?

Glen was there because he's my Friend and Mentor, he was also very instrumental in making this Book happen. The events have been packed with mostly younger people who dig the work. . .df

No doubt! I just thought it would be cool to hear if these events brought some un/der heard from voices out of the woodwork. Either climbers or observers from back then.
Can't wait to see the book myself!

Bump.

"Hitchhiking to Yosemite in the 1950s was the fallback move when funds were low and they couldn't stay away. Stranded on the empty reaches ofUS 395, Bob Swift catches partner Dick Irvin dreaming of high places, awaiting a big rig, a poultry truck--anything to close their distance to the Promised Land."

Good luck and godspeed with your endeavors this spring, Bullwinkle!

Oh, yeah...he's a dirtbag, too.

Yosemite in the Fifties just won the Mountain Image award from Banff. Many thanks to Largo, Tom Adler the folks at Patagonia Books and those of you on S.T. that worked on this book. . .df

Super job and kudos to all of you for the outstanding end result. It is so important for future generations to have a glimpse into the past, whether they want to or not.
