Yo Brandon, take a few days and go over to the Adirondacks and do some slab-o-neering on the amazing anorthosite!
Lots of long slabs with crazy gripping texture, many heading to summits.

Those are both great ideas. Funny, I was just thinking about the Dacks the other day. I'll bet Wilbeer would give me a tour sometime, that dude knows the range really well.
Any other scrambly type hikes in the Whites to add to the list? King Ravine does sound pretty cool. Castellated Ridge was good earlier this year, but I've got the ravine bug. Bring on the steepness!

The best scramble in New England for my money is the Knife Edge on Katahdin. I've only done it in Winter (4X) but it has a definite feel of Les Alps.
Also the Precipice and the Beehive in Acadia.
They are all in Maine, though. Beware of moose, logging trucks, and buggery.

I actually stumbled upon two moose in the rut when I did a solo trip to the Knife Edge twenty years ago. Scary stuff for a really tired sixteen year old. I agree though, that place feels like it's not in New England. Rugged terrain for sure.
