Using up all of our fossil fuels to fly to far away places to put up that new 300 foot 5.8 in lower Moldavia! Spending all our inheritance on fast screws, light cams, and easy women(and men). All the while leaving no first ascents to the next generation.

Hell yeah we are!!! Back in the day old climbers had to wait around for someone to come around for the old climber to brag about themselves, now we have supertopo.

Say what you really mean, fossils using fuel to do something with absolutely no redeeming social value. Guilty as charged and loving every minute of it!

I'm sorry, what was your question? I accidentally spilled a little Pinot Noir and missed it.

I think they are asking if we are spoiled as in been left out too many days, rotted, and smells bad.

Yeah, if that is the question, the answer is affirmative.

What do you mean, no FA's for the next generation?

If you do it right, no one will know that it's been done before.

We used to be a nuisance to the economy of vacation destinations. Now we are the reason those places exist at all.

Yes, you used to have actually have the cajones of a young man to do what was called climbing and it meant climbing something a bigfoot truck couldn't drive over. Now all you need is a piece of foam and/or be able to run it out at least 3 feet on 3/8 inchers.

The old men (and women) can now climb to still be able to "climb".

I maintain I'm only spoiled by the fact that I still am able to call out the OP on posting a very
poorly worded question. Maybe he/she was merely testing our extant syntax skills?

The bummer for me in old age, is my adult lifetime of saved slide-shows are mostly for naught. I can't remember when I last sat down with a group of fellow climbers and bored them spitless with old climbing adventures.

Yeah, yeah, I can always post the scanned images to ST, but its not the same as having a "captive-audience" to punish with my wit & wisdom.

Worse yet, my old slide projector only runs backwards, if it runs at all.

Maybe when Heidi sends me off to the "Old Climbers Home," the foxy nurses there will arrange for shared slide shows for the senile.

Fritz, you are right. Gone are the days of the slide show. Everyone brings ten slides and we all connect thru the experiences of our mates. The Internet is certainly not as intimate of a connection but it is what we make time for these days. With people we may not have ever have met!
