What in the world do you think THAT is, with your pure pragmatism?
Since you're so "realistic" and accepting of the down and dirty corruption that causes only the meanest to rise to the top and "get something done," I'm surprised that you find it anything but expected business as usual that "our democracy" has utterly screwed "we the people" in favor of those who can pay the most. Sheesh, on your model of thinking, we can't even call it wrong. We can moan and snivel and say we don't like it. But there is no wrong. There is ONLY "getting things done" and "voting" for the "candidate" who promises a shred of BS more to our "liking" than some other "candidate."
If you think there's a snowball's chance in hell that the Hillabeast is going to reform anything that most matters to you (and to me), you are the naive one! She's the ultimate "establishment" political animal, and she has DEEP debts to pay.
On your model, NO reform candidate can get elected, and even if by a miracle one did, (s)he couldn't "accomplish anything." Your model is a catch-22. So on your model, there IS only the vain hope that the pure political beasts will "serve" your interests in some slight way. But by their very "electability," they show that they'll only throw you a few bones, while ultimately they spend their real energies yet further entrenching the masters that own both us and them.
"Health care reform" is a classic, recent example. Nothing got reformed. Mega-corporations STILL rule over the whole health-care industry. Costs have only gone up and will continue to do so. And the insurance giants were granted a captive market, while they have a guaranteed no-risk backstop coupled with no in-principle limits on profits. So, they can gain as much as they want, but it's guaranteed that they cannot lose money. And by "collectivizing" the paying, ALL we got was a "better distribution" of the MORE paying, without the slightest reform of WHO gets paid! Corporate masters win again. Oh, but single-payer will fix it! Right?
And you call what we have now "democracy"?

20 different candidates attacking her every day. 5,000 talk radio yakkers and a TV station. Nothing but bluster. You like Bernie? Trust his judgement? Ok, when he drops out and endorses Hillary, then what?
4 of your brothers died under her watch and her command. They fought for 13 hours and lost their lives because she did nothing. Your a disgrace to that uniform and to this country. Tell those families that it's just politics.
