all of you cats thinking that clinton wins the general in a landslide need to remind yourself of what, eight months ago, the vast vast majority [myself included] thought trump's chances at winning the republican nomination were...

assuming trump wins the nomination, he'll immediately tack back to representing a more central position and will either ignore much of what he already said or when pressed will claim he was misunderstood/misrepresented/misspoke... he's already started some of that process.

and hillary will of course be making her own tack back while making her own parallel obfuscations.

and while hilllary has a slightly more consistent track record regarding her accomplishments vs her rhetoric...

never forget:

trump is a much better actor.

ie. while she certainly has the upper hand right now, nine months is time enough for a new human to gestate and hillary is one of the most polarizing u.s. political figures in recent memory... while i'd bet a few dollars, i wouldn't bet the ranch on there being another president clinton just yet.

Blacks, Latinos, Women - Clinton beats Trump, doesn't need to be a landslide, just a win.

^^^^

that's a fair and important point and one of the reasons why i wouldn't bet against her.

otoh: hillary has to be one of the most transparently pandering and uninspiring speakers i've seen in u.s. presidential politics in quite some time...

and i doubt the dnc is going to be able to protect her and reduce the number of debates or that the msm will give her 10X the tv coverage to internet search ratio as compared to her competitor, as they did when she was up against mr. sanders...

but feel free to bet your ranch: i do hope you win.

Clinton gave a decent general election stump speech last night. She hasn't connected with young people in the same way but she's going to sound a lot more righteous contrasted against the Republicans. Sanders has served to test her in this way and once the dust settles a bit Sanders, Warren, Obama and people who do connect better with young people will be effective surrogates in rallying folks.

Cruz will be the nominee: he has too many delegates on his side for a convention fight. It's looking less likely that trump will win the nomination outright by getting 1237 delegates in the primaries.

Hillary will chew up Putin and spit him out like the cheap little snake he is.

If she ordered the wrong sauce on a steak sandwich the media would cover that, even with missles flying over their heads, yes.

She (Hillary) really has a grasp of the issues, she really came out swinging and did very well.

Some of Senator Sanders' most strident supporters are starting to sound like tea party people, in their insistence on purity, willingness to disregard some facts that undercut his positions, and that somewhere, there is a large pool of untapped general election voters who would support their left/right wing candidates. The purity/Bernie's sh#t don't stink element is especially irritating.
