It's hit or miss, but like it looks easy says, there are spots. Rock creek campground not really.

Mindy and I took our pop-up trailer to the camp and posted the signs on the road.
So almost a mile past the Rock Creek Campground on Mammoth Pools Rd or Forest 81 you'll come to the fork below. Take the left.
Just past the fork is a spring that has very good water, no filtering required.
Follow the tacos
It is 7.0 miles to the turn for the Big Sleep camping area from the first sign/start of the left fork.
There is a sign past this fork, stay right.
Last turn and camp just up this rd. Go slow for lower clearance vehicles.
X marks the spot.

If you look at the last photo (two photos of the same spot actually, the last two photos) this just in posted of the camping location, you will just go rolling in there with the pick up 4x hollering hellos and woots, having no idea that you are actually destroying these:

Please be aware of the environment. It's a beautiful fragile place. There are many more flowers and artifacts in the area.

on the same slab you are driving/camping on, others have been before you for hundreds of years

Please compare the photos showing X Marks the Spot and these photos. It is exactly the same place. There is more to the world than you may actually comprehend in any given moment. Thanks

Is it too late to crash the party? I've been wanting to check out Shuteye for a while and it looks like I might actually be able to get away this weekend. I'll be by myself, looking for a partner, unless someone wants to hitch a ride from the bay area.

We are on for tomorrow morning (unless someone else can rally). I just found out that my kid needs surgery for a bad arm break on tuesday in Monterey and I'm a bit distracted.

We will try to tread lightly Luckypink, nice pics. Also a campfire ban is in effect.

Hoping to make it up there tonight, but tomorrow morning at the latest.

Denilou, anyone is welcome and I'm sure you can find someone to tie in with.

See you guys soon.

Hay This Just-In:
Do I get more raffle tickets if I bring a chain saw, fireworks and my diesel 4X4. The plan is cut bug trees and use fire work to back burn the camping area back to the 18th century. I will also bring my backpack sprayer full of salt and little water so we can kill anything that's even think'en about growing in the next 10 years.

HA HA just-in kidding. You all realize if you wanna be green you cant leave you moms birth canal right. Every other move we make in life kills something. SO SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT ECO-SYSTEMS. How many did you kill today just going to work!!!

You got that Wrong! I just payed more attention to my environment than others. I realize that there are micro to large complex Eco-systems everywhere to point out that shut-eye has them as well is cracking me up.
It's like they are only there and not in your shoes or in the cites or even on the floor of cars.
