I had several flashbacks

I did too. That Oh Sh#t feeling when the lead suddenly turns more serious than you thought, and you're making decisions that might or might not be good.

Best wished for a speedy recovery. I liked your perspective on the entire incident - and even passed it along to members of my team. We all try to be aware of the experience of the guy in the basket. I hope that the team which carried you out sees the report - you often don't hear about what happened to your subject.

Time to totally soak up the holiday activities. The world will be waiting for you when you have healed up.

blahblah, best of luck in your recovery. That was tough. Really glad to hear there's no spinal damage.

On the plus side, you got a good climbing partner!

Blahblah - so happy it wasn't worse, though it doesn't sound great. Take care, heal up, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything from us. PM is fine - we are easy to locate. We are happy to help however we can.

Man, scary, but could have been so much worse.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up and talk about your thought process leading up the event. I think we can all benefit reading it. So many bad events this year from loose blocks and flakes.

Best wishes for speedy and complete recovery.

I was discharged today and am resting at home.
I won't go through thanking each of you individually, as I'd get into Bad Oscar Speech mode pronto.
But let me say to you collectively--BIG THANKS.
I went through every post carefully. (And in my sedated state, Norwegian's proved challenging. Or perhaps the narcotics helped.)

I'm not too new agey, but I felt the energy from your posts!

It's really great to see the progress you have made, even knowing you have a long road ahead. Thanks for the good writeup.

I think all of us have gone through scenarios very similar to what you described. There but for chance, go any of us.

Take care and best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

it smashes me that my subjects
must work to receive my intent.

i set my fingers down on the keyboard
with a heart full of warmth to share,
and i attempt to walk them methodically
across the keys;

but they assume anti-poise
and begin to dance;
for i think they hear the songs in
my head and they just can't stand still.

i glance down at them
and watch, with a mixture of delight and horror
as i realize that i'm barely in control
of them.

here, blah,
let me attempt to clearly re-state my muddled message
of yesterday:

...cant do it.

how about: we all love you because you're real
and you choose to go out above gear and
shite happens to us all;
and your encounter with it became a story.

and we like those around here.

Glad you made it out of those doors! Seeing them gives me a negative physical response since they are never associated with rainbows, unicorns or buckets of gold.

Heal up!
