The worst of it is that Cuba was a beacon of democracy, freedom and prosperity before Castro.
No, it was a Mob front , just like Las Vegas, Nevada. Haven't you seen "Scarface" or "The Godfather"
After Castro seized power millions of Cubans over several decades braved high seas and sharks to escape the people's paradise only to flee for their lives into the hands of the evil Yankee "constrainers" waiting to devour them with rapacious Capitalism.
North Korea faces the same onerous looming threat of Capitalism.

It is time to end economic embargo on Cuba. All the sh!t that happened back then was so long ago most people do not even remember who Fidel Who? was. It is dead and people need to let it go.
Saying it is illegal to go to Cuba is like saying it is illegal to smoke pot. I cannot count the number of people I know that have been to Cuba if I use both hands.
Get a grip and get over it.

Ward is full of sh#t. Lookup Eli Black, United Fruits Banana Boats in the Bay of Pigs and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act act get back to us. Have you read an article in the last 30 years? Or are you going on some Ford Era 60 Minutes show? We have been so far up Cuba's skirt it's not funny. Does Guantanamo Bay Naval Base sound like a thing?

dd32 thanks for posting the link, absolutely unreal.....what a sad state of affairs. Amazing that access to information is the agent for change, access to cheap electron's as Thomas Friedman has called it. The world is indeed flat and at some point even North Korea will come out of the past albeit most painfully no doubt.

The balloon launchers aren't all that popular with the S Korean locals that live in the launch areas. That's not because of any love for N Korea, but because the Norks have a habit of firing heavy artillery across the border in the general direction of the launch sites.
