Enjoimx....cool tour our there to GP eh? A world class view at the end of a groomed trail, nice.

Wilbeer, you'll be amused to know I wish I had my old three pins on for our circumnavagation of our local ski hill. Such changeable conditions in the low tide that is the Tahoe Sierra made me long for better mountain tools on my feet. Josie dug it regardless.....

Everything is a sheet of ice here. If it's not groomed it's pretty much not skiiable....

http://www.tetongravity.com/story/ski/epic-customer-abuse-sshole-chews-out-bridger-bowl-employee A friend of mine took this video of a complete idiot trying to get his money back because they make you wear a transceiver to get on a lift to access avi terrain at Bridger Bowl. BTW tickets were under $50 when I went there last year. That is opposed to the $160/day at vail.

Brian Mohr, from AdventureSkier .com[Ember Photo] ,in Vermont, has said this today:

"There's some really sweet skiing out there in the lower elevation/lower angle untracked backcountry... Sunday's snow seems to have survived the warm and freezing rain/crust factor in many areas, leaving a nice 1-2" coat of sugary goodness to play with. Stay warm. And let it snow."

Not at all like over here,It is good mountain biking right now.

Duffield I would not worry,Stowe is known to groom among the best in the world. When weather gets locked up or we do not get any ,Stowe has always been a sturdy destination .
It is pricey ,but.....
Mike,He should be happy he is skiing!

I have never seen the lack of snow like this in New York[this time of year],at least they are making some.

getting on tele gear is great for your skiing , period.
YUP.
These days I mix Tele and "alpine" style depending on the terrain, snow conditions and just to mix it up.
Wahooooooo.
Now if the snow will just hang around long enough for me to get a day off!

Re: mike m's Bridger link, this comment rocks:

Makes you pine for the sweet serenity of the backcountry, doesn’t it?
This brand of self-entitled, self-important screaming and yelling business seems to be getting more and more common. It usually cascades with cussing, then crescendos and peaks into “Do you know who I am?! Do you know how much I make?! I’m gonna have your job!”
Like the snowpack, these character flaws lie in superposition, layers piled one on top of the other. Clearly this guy’s issues stem from a weak layer going back to early season, Freudian, childhood experiences wherein throwing a tantrum resulted not in a whupping but in a foot or two of pow to smooth things over (way to go parental units- your offspring is full of basal facets and hollows ready to pop!)
Sadly, these instabilities have persisted through adulthood, weak layers further complicated by cross-loading of high income, perceived upward social mobility, relative anonymity, and rewards attached to bad behavior; The perfect recipe for a spazzalanche.
Hopefully the ticket window receptionist avoided a full burial of abuse and was properly rescued by her manager o/a support staff…
And hopefully the downhill slide in question hits rock bottom, then seeks the therapy he so clearly requires.
Oh, that or a lesson in reading at a 3rd grade level- The trail map seems pretty damn clear to me.

Nice shot, Trad!

Tradman, just about every time I have been to Stowe,[And I have skied off every aspect of that mountain] I have seen climbers on that wall .

The way you get after it ,I do not doubt ,one of those times ,it was you!

While I have watched and shared the video, that, Perswig,.references above,
I equated the post's comments to the very superior web link immediately above, Gaphaw! Ha ha, the east cost skiing thread thing!!

Perswig,
Your statement also perfectly fits!! the the condition that the person or persons suffer from
at the east cost Vermont centric blog "Famous Blha blha Blha".

First the parents of these lucky SOBs spent years spoiling the brood with great experiences
at what once was an affordable family outing.Resort , lift assisted, whole mountain skiing.

Then when junior or some one got hurt they had their brother or sister, the lawyer, sue the Mountain.
The dollar reward was to scare the resort into compliance . . . that backfired!
The price of a lift ticket soared. Prices of all things on the resort hill doubled or more.

Then we all grew up and said phk this and jumped over a Gaurd rail to sample some steep free powder (do not shorten words like powder to a lazy azz non meaning three letter POW)

Enter the Internet age, the need to be Famous, there you go, ego driven content, corporate
support in trade for unreliable reviews of product, free advertising and that, so east cost denial of the facts, that every thing is bigger and better out west.
Yes especially the "back bush" ?. . .Back country, off the grid, hard to get to, powder skiing,"
(Call me a homophobe but "back bush pounding" is what anal sex is called)

"Schussing!", as they point out, if you were paying attention, is not a new word.
Their grandfather used it and they started The blog without using it.

Click the link it is very worth while, well written and so a great read.
Easily the best that the east cost has to offer, off the grid, is found farther north, but Vermont is very snowy.

Not offended at all,Gnome.

I do not connect the two whatsoever.

People run blogs, they get compensation for that,[HERE].

I know folks in Saranac, who know STDie folks ,who know FIS and Ember, thats the way socialist BC skiers here in the east skate.

We all try not to buy lift tickets.

Considered one of the best ski descents/climbs in the east.

Thanks Spider ,but I still care.
