Where's my rain dammitall - on the Central Coast getting 20 feet of wind all day with dark cumulus clouds swirling around and not a drop has hit the ground yet!

40% chance my butt!

Well I would say winter is here in the pah rah range just east of the Sierra. Steady rain and temp at 39 currently. Might see a frosting by morning.

Hard rain all night in Santa Cruz....but Kirkwood says they only got an inch!
It was very warm. At 4 a.m. the outside temp here was 61. That means the mtns aren't that cold to get some good snow.
The wait is on for some California skiing.

I blame Obama.

Yup....he's cruelly playing with us. He drops gas prices to a reasonable level for long trips to the mountains, then holds back on letting it really snow. Damn, he's a crafty guy.

the car wash fairies were at it again last night. I wish they would get it right and actually get the car clean.

Break a leg, MooseKilly. You look so selfie-possessed and sefie-assured as a down-hiller. Susan, give it hell when you get up to the slopes!

last sundays winter only about 1/2 the route shows in that photo. My P&S climbing camera is not wide enough to show the whole route.

This photo was taken Friday, and once we rounded that distant corner and hit the sunshine, we climbed in short sleeves.

Today was a good day to stay close to home, but not necessarily inside.

After a week with high temps in the mid-60's here in Choss Creek, no nights below freezing, & almost no precipitation out of the blowby of the
great California storm
I'm starting to think we might skirt around the frosty legs of old woman winter, here in the Idaho desert.

Unfortunately, the Solstice lights on the Inukshuks just don't look as good without snow.

Edge,

Love the shot of Miss Penny, does she like playing in the snow?!

We just lost my Mom's corgi, he made it to 14 and was really awesome.

Maybe we'll all get lucky on the West Coast and this seemingly "normal" pattern of storms will continue. We're due for some more rain tonight and again on Weds.
