AArrrgghh!
Tejay goes down and loses time, crap.
Andrew goes down as well, he shouldn't have been that close to the front in a full gas sprint. Nibali was just far enough back to be safe.

I was hoping J. Rod would hang on for the stage win but it didn't happen. (edit) But, he did take the polka dot jersey lead, that is a good consolation and better if he can take it to Paris.
I will miss Contador. He would definitely have given Nibali a run for it in the mountains.
Others will step up to the plate.

Gotta love pro cycling.
How many times have we seen it. A guy like Jack is out in the wind and rain for 100 miles, only to lose in the last 10 meters. Argh!
Sagan: It would be interesting to know if Peter has set a record for top 5 finishes in a single tour.

If they just would have put their heads down and buried themselves one of them would have won. A slight misjudgement and you are toast. I can understand why he was crying at the end.

For you die hard TdF fans, on Tuesday(7/22) at 5pm PDT, ESPN's '30 for 30' program will feature a 1.5 hour documentary, Slaying the Badger, which chronicles the 1986 Tour de France battle between Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond. Lots of interviews and archival footage make this a must see. Please check your local listings so you don't miss it!

Bhilden,
Just read the book. The movie should be interesting.
TJ took a beating today. Hopefully he can get going tomorrow. Another tough day.

^^^^^^^
StahlBro,
even though the publisher sent me the book, I don't need to read it. I was part of it. I lived and trained with Andy Hampsten in Switzerland prior to the 1986 Tour de France and was with the team at the Tour de Suisse(which Andy won!).
ps- every time I see Bernard Hinault at the Tour he asks me how Andy is doing.

That's really cool. I thought Andy's interviews in the film were some of the best parts. Hinault seems like a real character.
