He actually appears to care about the average person, not the party. I think he has demonstrated this.

As a former prosecutor he knows the law. He uses guns and hunts. And he's a good family man.

Oh, and he doesn't really drone on about gays, abortions, or birth control.

Doesn't drone on about gays, abortions or birth control?

Bluering continued

Why do you people always dwell on the insignificant sh#t like abortion, birth control, and gay rights?

Is that really a f*#king issue?? This is another reason I dig Ted, he knows what's important.

By "you people" I assume you mean "Ted Cruz."

Ted Cruz openly supports restrictive measure on abortion clinics that force them to close and has supported legislation banning support for organizations that support reproductive rights. Go to his Twitter feed and you'll see him crowing about it.

Ted Cruz introduced legislation barring the federal government from recognizing gay marriages: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d113:SN02024:@@@L&summ2=m&

Ted Cruz is a very active and open opponent of women getting their contraception covered by health insurance as mandated under the ACA and talks about it plenty. Again, see his Twitter feed or just google "Ted Cruz Hobby Lobby."

So what I hear you saying is that you don't pay enough attention to Ted Cruz to know what Ted Cruz is saying or doing. You sound like exactly the kind of person he wants supporting him.

O.k., Crimpe, spread your legs and allow a man to introduce semen into your vaginal cavity, Why should the State or Federal gov't have any business in this?

Wow that's a classy post right there, son. And you wonder why you have a tough time understanding women's issues.

The sad thing is that otherwise good people like Bluey are the target audience of Fox News and right wing AM hate radio and the lies and propaganda they perpetuate.

Crimpie is a smart gal. It was a rhetorical statement. If she took it personally, then I apologize, it wasn't really directed at her personally. Since she is, of course, a woman, I could see how she may be offended. That was not my intent.

My point is that having sex is a personal, intimate "choice". It is NOT the duty of the State to provide you with contraceptives. It is your duty as a responsible adult to police yourself and your sexual proclivities.

It is nice that some healthcare plans provide this free option, but when did this become a right?

Is this really the big political issue facing us right now? Birth control?

Is lack of birth control really why they are poor? Maybe it's something else.

This is where liberals are wrong, and right-wing conservatives are right. It's a cultural, family-values thing. If people finished high-school, realized that having sex may have consequences, and stayed out of trouble, their lives may be better.

Sounds simplistic, and it is! A cycle of poverty is not hard to escape. It takes will. And when people try to speak out about it they get called 'racists', or un-caring.

Whatever....

Bluey, sounds like you've been talking to Bill Cosby. You are right, to a
point, but you know you can't talk like that around here, don't you? But I
must take issue with yer assertion about the state providing birth control.
In all other civilized countries with national health care birth control is
considered part of that system. And if you get knocked up when you're 14
that makes staying in school a lot harder which makes breaking that cycle
even harder. And since when were 14 year olds known for their iron will power
and forebearance?

Yeah gawdammit, if only people would finish high school and love Jesus and family values then everything would be perfect!

They even have guns! Why aren't they smart and free and prosperous?!

We are without question at the beginning of a mass extiction event due to overpopulation, accepted by most biologists worldwide as fact. Why worry about contraception?

This is another reason I dig Ted, he knows what's important.

You mean besides putting women under his boot, Ted think it's important to let the "free market" do what it needs? Like rolling back all regulations so that the job creators can go on doing the good work. Yep, I guess you don't mind out-of-control industry.

Instead of being vague Bluey, why don't you name something good your God-loving politician has done.

Oh, that's right you did. He likes guns and hunts.

More gibberish from Bluey:

You, my friend, are one ignorant person.

Why did this not happen so much in the past? And when it did, how did they make it work?

This is a recent trend, a result of several things. All of which could be fixed with personal responsibility and accountability.

And yeah, I'm ignorant. Stupid right-winger.

We should all be able to do whatever we want, and when we make bad choices we should have the State help us out, or blame other responsible people for our problems. Or scream "racist".

First, let me say I've never called you stupid and I won't. I'm sure you're not.
You're also not 1/10th as rude as some others here. As for your question,
that could be a whole other thread and I don't see it as germane to the
question of whether birth control should be covered by the ACA. The fact
is young girls do get pregnant these days and it winds up costing all of us
in the end. Birth control is cheap, like me. Leave the moralizing to the
girls and their mothers.

The concept of "Birth Control" is an anathema to Neo-Con types unless it is being forced on 3rd world nations who have too many babies. They will defend to the death a Fetus's right to be but turn their cold shoulders to the babies and mothers of America.

Why is the only form of population control acceptable to Conservatives all out war?

Sadly, true.

Birth control is cheap, like me. Leave the moralizing to the girls and their mothers.

I have no problem with people using BC, my wife used to, but she stopped for medical reasons. Now I'm responsible for BC.

I will leave the moralizing to mothers and daughters when I am not asked to spend tax-dollars for their poor choices. It's not a huge issue. I'm not sure how we got down this road.

My original point was that BC should be a personal choice and responsibility. Having that 'slut' Sandra Fluke bitch and whine about having to spend so much money on BC is a joke, and a distraction from real problems we face. It's not my problem, buy some condoms or something, they're cheap!

Or, heaven forbid, tell the guy who is getting ready to f*#k you, "You buy the rubbers!".

It is really that simple.

Bluey, I'm sorry I said you were ignorant. My bad.

I agree with you, more people should finish high-school, and more folks should stay out of trouble. These are large problems that face our society (you know, we do lock up a fairly large percentage of our population), and ones that I believe our politicians should address.

So, your man Ted, how does he address this problem? Other than cutting the funding for public education, how do his goals align with helping the average man?

Yes, most likely.

She spends too much money on BC?

Apparently not enough, she wants me to chip in for her choices. Doesn't she have a law degree? WTF?

Like the Taliban, American conservatives are threatened by strong women and especially, their sexuality.

Ms. Fluke is actually married, btw.
