Star Wars 1,2,3,4,6. Can't find the Empire Strikes Back which is likely Apogees fave.

Also Troy which I thought was much better than the reviews said.
Jane Eyre, Becoming Jane and the Three Amigos to keep it real

A couple movies I've seen lately that I would recommend are

Life of Pi - Good story and good visuals except for a couple action sequences with excessive fake-looking CGI.

Wolf of Wall Street - If you enjoy Martin Scorsese films, you'll like it. DiCaprio and Jonah Hill are great.

And a couple films which I DON'T recommend are:

Warm Bodies - Good concept (basically a Twilight spoof, where the girl falls in love with a zombie instead of a vampire), but horribly executed. This could have been an awesome gore-filled dark comedy for adults, but instead is a boring pg-13 romance for tweens. The zombies read, drive cars, and TALK, wtf?

Amazing Spiderman - Way too long. Seems to also be targeting the Twilight demographic with lots of teen angst. This trailer sums it up

I loved this movie....get it on Netflix:

WADJDA is a movie of firsts. This first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia is the story of a young girl living in a suburb of Riyadh determined to raise enough money to buy a bike in a society that sees bicycles as dangerous to a girl's virtue. Even more impressive, WADJDA is the first feature film made by a female Saudi filmmaker. In a country where cinemas are banned and women cannot drive or vote, writer- director Haifaa Al Mansour has broken many barriers with her new film. (c) Sony Classics

My first trip into a movie theater in 10 years or so took me to the movie, "Lego".

Pure genius. All the way to the end, which was priceless.

7 Psychopaths Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson

Some significant J Tree footage, apparently they rented a bungalow out there and hung out for awhile to read the script.

Dallas Buyers Club is very good. My favorite was American Hustle, because it was so over the top humorous--Jennifer Lawrence stole the show--but McConaughey and Leto really did deliver Oscar performances.

Hunger Games -- Catching Fire: Better than the first installment. Very good! Now waiting on the third.

Ender's game -- A let-down after the book. Could have been twice as long, and that would have been better. But very good FX, and it stays true enough to the book that it's good enough. I don't know why they were afraid to make it an hour longer, at least. The story certainly had the necessary depth.

Machete Kills -- Well, uhhh... I'm dumber now than I was before. During the scene with the intestines ratcheting a bad guy up into the helicopter rotor, I swear (although now I really can't remember) I felt small portions of my brain collapse in on themselves, producing small black holes that may well have long term ever-dumbifying results. I think it was supposed to be a spoof, but I'm too dumb now to sort it out. Okay, "Machete Kills -- In Space" is the upcoming sequel. By the time it's released, I'll probably be too dumb to not watch it; and that will likely be terminal. You are warned!

Don't go out to any movies these days what with HD HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. We just finished the last episode of True Detective. Outstanding drama with superb actors (Oscar winner MM, Woody H., etc.) Doesn't get much better than this!

I've been on a Jim Jarmusch binge lately -

"Dead Man" with Johnny Depp. The Neil Young soundtrack is worth it alone.

"Night on Earth" - five cabs in five cities. The Italian scene with Roberto Benigni is a riot!

Also managed to sneak in a old DVR capture of Nick Cage's
"Bringing out the Dead". Not Jarmusch but very intense.
