Roxy, no blog of facebook or etc... sorry for the late response

I didn't feel this was a place for putting up a TR on exploration with out climbing, though I was scoping the cliffs and hills as we passed. It was mainly a mussel and herp hunt.

But as like minded folks figured you all would find this interesting.

little z-
I don't get the inside joke I guess? We saw very few snakes and we were looking!

We did grab a decent boa

Little z- Sorry I just realized what you said, "how many fer-de-lance saw you?" I bet a bunch! I am happy to not run into them while carrying rafts through the jungle.

My dyslexia is on full force. In my head I switched, "saw" and "you"!

Man this is right up my alley, awesome trip. Did you happen to get any orchid photos by any chance?

Guernica- Only one tiny thing, (sorry the whole botany thing is over my head at the time) The whole plant was the size of a few fingers!

Sweet! Thanks! I have no idea what that is but sometimes the tiniest orchids are the sweetest. Here's a reciprocation-shot I took just now. These are little bulbophyllums I recently mounted in sphagnum moss to a deer skull. Yes the dental floss is rather unattractive but will be removed as soon as the roots intertwine with the bone more. I may have been a victorian-era orchid hunter in a past life, I'm just fascinated by them. Love herps too though! Super jelly of your trip : )

in the absence of climbing shots one can justify their ST thread by dropping a couple of political references ;)

thanks for sharing your trip! Any pics of those cliffs?

Roxy- The float was through unknown terrain, and no sizable rocks were seen/visible from the river. Sorry I can't add any pictures.

But you can't find rock if you don't look!
