Technique, not tape

Haven't we discussed this already?

We had the gear to lead, but most of what we climbed was way above my ability. Apparently, climbing hard stuff makes you get better? Or something? Plus TRing is hot right now. Check TMZ.

DM, we were out there on Saturday only, but I'm sure the lulz spread over to the next day. There were plenty.

On the tape on Jaws - my fingers were bare, baby!

Chim-Chim, I think that bastard took the bike!

On a serious note, I wanted to lead Robbins or something similar, but the boys were having so much fun watching me flail on 11s. I was just along for the ride.

I'll be 34 on April Fools day.

I know - I behave in a far more mature manner than my age would suggest.

Yep, there's that Firefly...never did get that thing...amongst many others...*sigh*

Crazy beautiful pictures....i need to get back in shape and join you guys...dang it Jim!

Did I ever meet either of you, Ryan or Jason?

You may have met Jason, but Ryan and I are new to climbing at Woodson. This was my 2nd time there and his first. Jason is there all the time, as I understand. I think I read in another thread that you injured yourself and are taking it easier these days. Sorry to hear that.

We TR'd the hell out of it! Yeah! Next time I go I'll stick to the 9s and low 10s, take my own rack. I wouldn't want to lead Jaws unless you had it dialed, seems like a fall in the mouth would be sub-optimal.

That Manuels Horror isn't straight forward....takes a bit to figure the sequence.

Oh, of you're learning crack technique, tape up for this one...

...just like Hamburger Crack, only more hamburger and more crack.

I got Manuels, and I'm sure my sequence was jacked up. I ended up just hanging from both jams at one point, which are really solid. The top is funny, you think you're out, but not quite yet. Sequence on the cave was probably no good as well, I didn't do some heel hook or sit on the chair like a good boy should? Or something.

I threw some tape on the back of my hands after I lost a little skin on Crucible. Taped my two fingers for Jaws, and then took it right off. So much easier without it.

Leading Jaws? You're right, not recommended, unless a photographer asks you to, even then, kinda silly:

Yeah, I saw that video, after I watched him (I think it was him) solo some other 11-something on a different video.

This is pretty much a solo, the one cam is there for style-points.

The crux are the rattly jams right after that cam. If I would have fallen it would have kept me from hitting the deck, although nobody plans on falling if they're third classing it. Yes, I was asked to place gear for the camera, although nothing came from that photo sesh...never saw the results.
