Wayno, I have a pic of me doing a one-and-half in Rainbow Pool (August 1993). I'll dig it out. Three Pools down the fire trail on the other side of 120 from Rainbow, best is the third, about an 80' dive right next to the falls. Just pull out fast and swim left, or you get sucked into a chute.

In northern California, any river - Smith has some great pools, Russian (well, always crowded), the Eel, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, American - there is so much.

Monterey Bay/Santa Cruz, Stinson. San Francisco on the west side along the Great Highway. (All great white territory).

Prior to its blowup, swam in the the lake (1970) below Mt St Helens after climbing it.

Puget Sound (family reunion 1993, drunk and my then Irish girlfriend and my brothers and cousins said I was foolish).

Down south, only know Lake Perris, though I have swam and dived in the Kern out of Sequoia NP.

Water skiing? Sacramento-San Joaquin delta, skied once from Martinez to Pier 39 (Sea of Cortez, where I was head chef/kitchen manager, 1980), I won't do that again, the Bay gets choppy.

Croatia, Crete, Mallorca, St Thomas (my first scuba dive, hmmm, great), Nice (rocky beaches), Tuolun, Hyeres, Cassis (diving from the walls of the Calanques when free-soloing), Lac Leman (Geneve), Sennen Cove,

Gosh there also many places in this world and I have only seen a minute of them.

I would like to see Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Chile... so many places, very little time and no money.

Now? Killiney Beach and the Forty-Foot (named after an old British barracks). No big sharks, yet, wait until climate change, but jellyfish schools will park themselves in the Forty-Foot and the occasional seal has nipped people.

Palisades Lake, colddd...

Ok, I'm man enough to admit it.

I'm sore as heck from hucking my flabby mass off of a ledge eight times, swimming a lot, and trying unsuccessfully to throw backflips off of a rope swing.

It sure was fun though.

Time to do it all again in a couple of hours...

I'm a big fan of descending the South Yuba from the bridge. Lots of waterfall jumps with hucks as big as you want, just don't hit the opposite canyon side on the way down!

Ok, I'm headed back to the trestle jump. 25' of awesome, I can't get enough!

Seriously, having a 25', easy peasy jump two miles from your house is addictive.

So much fun.

Ammon, next time I'm out west, I'm going to hit you up. I've seen noobs front flip over their canopies off of a bridge. 200'. I want to learn.

Sweet photo, BTW.
