jghedge - your new islamic love interest Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will try to plead to avoid the fed death penalty. Doubt he'll get it.

They already have all the evidence needed convict and inject him without any statement from him.

One of the few words the car jack victim understood between the two was Manhattan which was mentioned twice according to reports. That with the amount of explosives found on them and at their residence elludes to plans for NY as well..

followup on Ron's above post:

The brothers who allegedly detonated pressure cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon had rudimentary plans of traveling to New York for an attack on Times Square, according to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, told interrogators that he and his older brother, Tamerlan, intended to set off explosives in Manhattan, according to unnamed law enforcement officials who spoke to Reuters and NBC News.

"Last night we were informed by the FBI that the surviving attacker revealed that New York City was next on their list of targets," said Bloomberg at a quickly organized press conference this afternoon. "We don't know if we'd been able to [stop an attack] if the terrorists had arrived from Boston.

"Thank God we didn't have to do that," Bloomberg said in City Hall. "The fact is New York City remains a prime target for those who hate America and want to kill Americans."

The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force shared information with New York officials that the Tsarnaev brothers had six bombs, including one pressure cooker explosive like the bombs that killed three and wounded more than 280 at the marathon, and five pipe bombs.

The brothers allegedly made a spontaneous decision to head to New York in a stolen Mercedes SUV last Thursday after the fatal shooting of an MIT campus police officer, Kelly said. The victim of the carjacking heard them brainstor

Do you have the strength not to be radicalized and do sh1t on April 15?

On April 15, 1974, Patty Hearst was photographed wielding an M1 carbine while robbing the Sunset District branch of the Hibernia Bank at 1450 Noriega Street in San Francisco. She had been radicalized by her SLA kidnappers and joined them in their terrorist acts.

Thus they are terrorists that deserve not a minute worth of due process

Due process exists to make sure that innocent people don't go to jail and that police, etc., follow the law when doing their duty. The actual crime that took place doesn't change the need for those things.

Or do we just go ahead and act just like the terrorists and bypass legal processes and just kill off people that we are pretty sure, because the news media or government tells us so, that a person is guilty even before the evidence has been reviewed?

Really, no criminal deserves due process. They only deserve punishment. It is the innocent people that sometimes end up in a courtroom that deserve due process. But we cannot be sure who is who until that process is completed.

Sucks there has to be a big tax-payer money-wasting trial etc. Just take the f*#k off life support and put a bullet in his head ASAP. Than pay for his cremation with whatever money he has on his/his brother's account.

Dave, it is our govt that defined the "WAR" on terrorism,, meaning radical islam/ al-quayduh/mujaheddin/Hezbollah/etc. Therfore they are combatants by that definition.

Yeah, sucks that an interest in obtaining justice is what sets this country apart, makes it worth defending in the first place.

yeah, sucks that WE would NOT have been able to get the intelligence out of him including the plans to bomb New York IF our guys had been dumb enough to take your advice and just put a bullet in him

I agree. We should only have trials for the accused criminals that are innocent, and skip the trials for those who are guilty.

No matter what anyone on supertopo would like to happen, the guy has been charged, had an attorney appointed and will have a trial, unless he wants and gets a plea deal.

If'n you don't like that process move to Sudan or somewhere.

Who decides when it is appropriate to skip the trial?

Boggles my mind that so many people can't do the simple thought exercise.

Now let's click over to the thread where we are all bitching about the president ordering drone strikes against US citizens...

I personally consider the John Birch Society to be far and away fundamentally more of a danger to the United States than Hezbollah or any other foreign terrorist group.

Is not due process a constitutional right?
Where are all you defenders of the constitution?
