I've had a few days to process the events of last week which culminated in the muppet and me being subject to stay home orders. Strange days. Friday stunk because it felt like the suspect was winning, the entire city of Boston was empty and three neighboring towns were effectively on lock-down. Not to mention locking down an entire city effectively provided a blueprint for future terrorists...don't go out in a ball of glory, why, stick around and hold an entire city captive, interrupt commerce and people's daily lives. Frighten children.

After being stuck inside on Friday, I was actually loathe to go out until this morning when I had to go back to work. Everyone was still shell shocked at work, off balance and irritable. I haven't really slept in days. As Friday night approached, I settled in my mind that I would not go to sleep, lest I be caught off guard protecting the muppet. I figured I could do some damage if necessary with the Dolt piton/non-piton the MadBolter gave to me last fall, worst case scenario. Thankfully, that didn't become necessary.

Why the strong reaction? Your guess is as good as mine. This morning I checked mapquest, and the house by house searches were being conducted just 2 short miles from our apartment. Two miles. Two...miles.

Thanks to everyone that kept me up to speed so that I could limit the news coverage with the muppet at home.

I don't feel embarrassed for a second that people were cheering, thanking law enforcement and first responders and singing the National Anthem in the streets. If a crazed, violent, desperate suspect with bomb materials and gun(s) and a complete disregard for human life was on the loose within a range of two short miles of your home, I suspect you might feel a similarly huge wave of relief and gratitude for those who kept you out of harm's way.

We have a stack of pictures the muppet drew during our confinement that we are going to send to the local police, fire and other organizations whose members put their lives on the line to protect our way of life.

Our thoughts and prayers are still with those whose lives will never be the same.

Carry on.

Well we could send them up to Wassilla if you prefer.

Being compassionate Canadians we would first insist that on waiting until the snow melts before enacting any extraordinary rendition into such a lawless and cruel land. Worse than the east side I've heard.

Ah yes, the Wasilla-billies on towns farther fringe are well versed in such interrogation techniques and they don't have to look to see Russia since they are Russians, Ukranians, chechnyans etc.

Indisputable Photo Evidence That the Boston Marathon Bombing Was Staged?

Never in the course of human history has genuine human blood EVER looked like the fire engine red paint-like liquid seen spilled on these bricks.

I'm an emergency physician.

Looks just like fresh arterial blood to me.

That "educate yourself" article is one of the stupidest things I have ever read.

Nevadastan? Even us part timers are proud of at least the northern Nevadastan territory. WTF.

I have to agree. Although, the best part of Northern Nevadastan is Northern Californiabad.

No Locker.....gloating over a hunch in a senseless act of terrorism that hurt and killed so many of our brethren is pointless.

More newz, the older brother may have killed 3 people quite some time back:

http://news.yahoo.com/boston-bomb-suspect-eyed-connection-2011-triple-murder-164354976--abc-news-topstories.html

"Tsarnaev, the alleged bombing mastermind who died in a fierce gun battle with police early Friday morning, had been training with one of the 2011 murder victims in an attempt to transition from boxing into a possible career in the brutal sport of mixed-martial arts.

The victims were found in a Waltham, Massachusetts apartment. They had their throat slashed, their heads nearly decapitated. Their mutilated bodies were left covered with marijuana. It was a gruesome scene but also perplexing to law enforcement. While drugs appeared to factor into the motive, the murderer left both the marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash behind in the Waltham apartment. While the investigation has been active for more than a year, authorities acknowledged they have had few leads."

I'd guess that's the explicit idea in managing the situation thus.
