slabbo - LE plans for stopping or mitigating terror attacks are not
a conspiracy. Contingency planning is what the good guys do.

I was at work today in Boston.
Every year growing up, we would get together with family and friends to cheer on the runners along the marathon route. It's a unifying, fun and up-beat event made even more meaningful watching folks dig deep and tackle "heartbreak hill".
I couldn't bear to take photos of the signs left hanging along the route by the families and friends of runners. As I was driving out of the city around 6p, reporters on the radio were reporting that people were still wandering around, cold and lost, trying to find friends and family.
My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones, and to those family members and other individuals whose lives will be forever changed due to severed limbs, permanent disfigurement and lost innocence.
It's a sad day in Boston.
That being said, they sure as Hell picked the WRONG city. Bunch of COWARDS.

At least 30 members of an Afghan wedding party were killed and many more wounded when a U.S. plane bombed a village in the central province of Uruzgan today, Afghan officials and residents said.
any legitimate news organization or wire reporting this? like AP or New York Times or Reuters or BBC? The first hits I saw on my googling "30 killed Afghan wedding" are:
(1) www.dailypaul.com > Forums > Daily Paul Liberty Forum
(2) www.newsvine.com
(3) www.dailymail.co.uk (the one you linked)

Shutting down the cell towers is a planned defensive maneuver.
Doesn't do sh!t if you know what your doing.
If you want to control IED's explosives you don't need cell tower.
Man you guys don't know much.
Just main stream media is all you know ......

Not a secret that they will be tracking down every phone in the world that made 2 calls in the 14 seconds between the two blasts.

My theory , for what it's worth:
These bombs were the work of someone who was disqualified from the Marathon in the last year or two. They feel like they should have won but feel they were cheated by Marathon officials. They have been nursing a grudge, of sociopathic proportions , ever since.
Investigators need to go over the list of disgruntled and disqualified runners , possibly going back several years.

Think we all agree on this, Coz. Especially tonight, as everyone comes to gripes with the weird horror inflicted on humans that were just living their day. Prayers and comfort to all. It is difficult to comprehend......

Hell there are probably more people killed and maimed daily on the streets of Chicago than this little act. Why are americans acting so collectively stupid? Terrorism is only effective if the terrorized cease to function normally. Don't sensationalize, don't give them the effect they want, shake it off and get back to business as usual other than tracking them without relent till captured or killed.

Folks, calm down.
I've read all sorts of wrong things in this thread, reporting speculation as fact.
Also, consider that you don't really want to cause harm to your fellow climbers, do you?
I'm specifically talking about posting gratuitous pictures of traumatic amputations, with no warning. Those of us in medicine and EMS have seen worse, but for those who do not, such things can cause psychologic damage, that can go on for some time.
You may choose to believe that such people are weak, have weak character....and irrespective of such value judgements of people, posting things that may hurt people says a lot more about your character, than theirs.
I'm talking specifically to you WB.
