Thanks for the update Russ. Some of the posts above lead me to believe he had already left us. I'm not giving up hope.

"Blitzo is one of the lucky ones .."

This part may be "peaceful" for him...

The rest of it was absolute HELL!!!...

Personally, I DO NOT think that having Cancer is being "one of the lucky ones"...

I'm with ya on that one Locker. My father-in-law passed away from cancer (at home, thankfully) seven years ago. All that is going on with Blitzo and his wonderful posse is reminding me of all that. It was a rough road for sure, and like Blitzo, my father-in-law was strong and tough. But It wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even the tough guys. I'm assuming Blitzo had strong palliative meds now. There is a relief in those that is not only calming to the stricken, but also to the caregivers.

Peace, blessings and hugs,
Eric

Perhaps to honor Blitzo annually here on the Tacostand, we ought to have an photography contest with a fine award to the winner.

Was there a charity Billy wanted to start for young photographers?

Maybe have photographers give their work to an auction and the proceeds can go to Bill's charity.

Haven't posted in over a year, but figure Blitzo deserves as good a sendoff as we can give him. I'm speechless at the amazing folks out there watching over him!

Viya con dios Billy!

I just didn't think things would happen so quickly, I thought there would be plenty of time, we were going to hang out/climb/photoshoot/drink beer... definitely drink beer... I'll never make the mistake of thinking there's all the time in the world to reconnect with someone. It was a gift to meet Blitzo & Locker at the Vedauwoo Sushifest last year, and hang with them for the day/evening... and I also was able to hang with da Bloot at the Gordon fest. I thought there would be many more such times coming up, we had some loosely made plans...

Blitzo, so glad you are surrounded by the love of your very close tribe right now! I really like to hear the stories and see the Blitzo pics from Erret, Beth, Locker, Russ, Sooze, Marissa, El Cap Pirate, El Capinyazz, the Agent!, and all of you. Bringing up the good memories is healing. The pic in the space station, looks like so much fun. The lanyards story, and Jaybros small role in it, LOL! The older supertopo Blitzo threads, great to see, with his keen sense of humor and beautiful photography. I feel for you all, and the pain that is there. The good memories are the salve, I hope, and provide comfort.

Blitzo Bump, team Bloot bump!

what a kind way to honor bill's love of photo-art...

sure wish he was now able to enjoy starting and seeing the far-reach
of this idea... would be nice for various helps to climber families, too...
when illness like bill's hits...

see, there, bill--your name is so special, in the way of not only climbing, but in art too!!!
prayers and blessing TO YOU bill, this eve...

still in your corner, praying...
hugs, too, and prayers to sooze, russ, locker, and all that show...

Had a wonderful visit with Blitzo this morning and heading back there in about an hour.

He isn't much for chatting these days and its tough to know if he can hear and understand the happenings around him. BUT, I blabbed to him like we always blabbed when together and I swear he could hear and understand me. Maybe cause I want him so badly to, maybe because he does, I dunno. But what I do know is that he winked at me a few times and I wanted to steal him away to feel the desert heat and beauty on his skin.
Ill settle for a beer at his bedside later tonight.

Love you Bill

That is so wonderful, Agent.

He would be much happier out there than in Hospice.

What do you do.

Good visit tonight. He's holding on, hanging in there. And so peaceful in a way. Locker, Sooze, Russ and others by his side.

I'm still living in th world with Peter Pan and Easter Bunny trying to figure out a
Way to break Blitzo outta there and get him into sunshine. I think that's the hardest part,
After looking at the entire world he tackled In his photography and now he is stuck in a room for months, days, hour after hour....just makes my heart heavy.

But he is safe. He is so very loved.

Elcap, love ya man. Got too late to call so I will tomorrow
