Stoked! Go Guys. What's a number? We've already discussed how many wiener youth there are. Ever go to a climbing gym.....? Ouch, did I say that?

Speaking of Ouch, I miss you mega, Dude. You would put a FINE tweak on this topic. A great cartoon of Donini, Lowe and .....an Ouch to make it a funny gift to all of us.

Love you Ouch! Cheers, lynnie

You guys should put some serious thought into what you wear. Forget modern comfortable/practical clothing. I vote for either powder blue leisure suits or maybe something along the lines of 60's psychedelic . Either way you guys will crush it. Looking forward to hearing about your success.

"Donini and Lowe, along with a 20-year-old friend, completed the Evolution Traverse in the Sierra in a fast two days in 2010. The remote, eight-mile route crosses nine peaks over 13,000 feet, with extensive fourth- and fifth-class climbing that they climbed almost entirely free-solo. At the time, they were 67 and 66, respectively."

Man, that's feckin' cool.

I'm sure they'll do it!
Just wish I could be there to watch it--though elcap-pics will
no doubt document it well!

G-d bless Dougald. I love his writing and in-the-know timeliness but can just imagine George cringing with this announcement given his very real aversion to anything close to spray.

That being said, 'Go, Geezers!'

God only knows what kind of priapismic state this kind of news will put Mark and Max into, we can only hope the two youngsters survive the resulting onslaught of activity.

OK, if those two old farts do NIAD, then I'm doing HDIAD by the time I'm 60 (7.5 years for training, should be casual).

Thanks for keeping the dream alive!

They will do just fine on the Nose-In-A-Day.
Just a day of holding is OK. Donini don't eat much anyway.

Whew. What a relief. Jim and George are leading the way. Tangible evidence underpinning audacious hope.

If I had known how much easier it was going to be to wait until my eight decade to climb the Nose, I could have saved a lot of sleepless nights and age anxiety over the past several decades. Most men my age only worry about finding a bathroom and smelling bad: secretly, I had to also worry about never having climbed the Nose.

However, now knowing the benefits of waiting, I can even upgrade my hopes for a NIALT ascent to a NIAD project, blowing right by NIAFDs.

I have 7 more years before I have to seriously work on my training.

Time for a nap and some daytime TV.

Go for it Roger. I think one of these guys is only 69, and will have to do this a second time if they want the 70+ record.

If they took me in a haul bag the combined age factor would go way up.

Oops, that's not a proposal.

Have fun guys!

All joking aside, I'll be watching this event very seriously........while Donini and Lowe are doing the climbing! Will probably be standing room only out in the meadows - they better hurry and get that fence built.

Anyway, I wish them well, that spirit has already lifted my old ass up just a little more.
