ice in Ouray this time of year?

really? whodathunk.

I have a three day weekend next week. Was thinking hotsprings and ice climbing. Ouray? really? Jim?

Thanks for posting this up.

A little trivia - it was Jello that gave me the inspiration for the first official SushiFest. I wish I could find that first post.

Thanks for posting this, Jim. I was amazed in the mid-70's when I first became aware of Jeff and some of what he had already accomplished in climbing, tool development, new routes, writing, and photography, ... and continue to be amazed when I am reminded of what he has accomplished since.

Thank you Jeff for all you have done for climbing and for the inspiration you've given many of us!

Wow !

I don't know what to say, I am just compelled to say something.
To make note. To offer recognition.

Uncle Jimbo:
Thanks for taking the time/effort to put this post together.

I know what your Brotherhood with Jeff means to you.
This thread is at the same time heart saddening...
and a total inspiration.

Huzzah! Right on!

Another one worth coming out of hibernation for!

I saw Steve House's tweet of this earlier today and was going to post something, but I'm glad Donini beat me.... done with style and way better!

Go on ya jello! You have the attitude that for life, period, that is immensely inspiring. We should all aspire to that.

Cheers!

That looked like so much fun.

It really must of been a blast to meet up with so many old friends, and

Jim, your lucky to have Angela around to take charge of the tech. stuff!

Wish I had been there!

Jeff's article about Zion in Ascent is what got me curious about the place.

Did anybody get a photo of the Jeff Lowe Award?

That sculptor made an interesting piece.

Well done! Great job facilitating this. Jello is likely why I started ice climbing 20+ years ago. I remember seeing him climb in Vail I think..... when I was a full on Noob. I remember thinking, I want to climb ice like he does. I certainly never reached that level of proficiency but he certainly inspired me to become better.

I'm with Toker Villain - I still remember the poetry of Jeff's Zion article.
Coincidentally, I met him in front of the same hanger a couple of years after
that picture was taken. OK, maybe not such a coincidence but I still remember
him standing there shuffling his feet and being polite. Maybe he was just
uncomfortable with me on my knees in supplication?

Nice work Jim.

I hope that Jeff knows how important he has been to so many people. Visionaries like him seem to come around maybe once in a lifetime.
