Hey, John: We had a MASSIVE haul bag filled with beer that we wanted at the belay! Seriously. No? The rap was listed at 100 ft. and we were climbing on a 60 meter line, so....as Locker so eloquently put it, stayin' alive!

@Todd: How long did it take you to put in each bolt? I'm getting blisters on my hands just thinking about it.

20 to 40 min. each bolt........It's about as slow and as boring as climbing gets...

This is a cool thread.

I agree with Todd Gordon that it is nice to have a positive vibed thread.

Cool pics...classic Locker.

I too have been to the Mongolia area in JTree. Had just purchased a pair of Madrocks on the corner by the Coyote Cafe. My fave La Sportiva foci were on their last leg and blew out after my first route at Mongolia. I donned the Madrocks and set off on lead number two...scariest Ive had in a while.

I want to go back with my good shoes and climb like a possessed mad man.

Okay that makes sense. Used to schlepp a big ice chest up to the base of Tahquitz. Tucker would have been proud.

Edit: Hope you had ice in that bag. For a 100' route warm beer would be a travesty.

Thanking those derelicts for doing new routes is like thanking junkies for shooting up!
