Oh mouse, fine fellow,
Quite funny, then mellow,
A good chap I think that you are.
You show wit within tales,
When describing travails,
Your spirit will carry you far!

I love Finnish poetry.

Insomnia

I can bear the grey days all right. The sky´s
lowering — that I know from old; and, yes,
the trek to those I love stretches as far as Oceania,
the starlit domes, the rainbow´s end, or youth;
but, like stripping a coat from one dying of cold,
or depriving a drowning man of a life-raft,
the insomniacs have been robbed
of the magic key to the gloomy castle
whose turrets let you see the whole globe,
though it´s dark and our planet´s swimming
in cries of pain. A long, long time ago
a cool hand fell on my brow. Someone said: `Sleep!´
There was someone.

When you're dead...

When you’re dead you’ll get to do everything you didn’t have time
to do while you were alive.
You’ll finally have time to yourself, you must promise
to become very selfish.
I see before me: ”Don’t think I intend just to sit
here and rot.”
Finally you get to tell the president and the minister of defense
what you think of them.
Not to mention your wife, who ”stole your life.”
You’ll be free as the gull you loved to watch
through the window of the sauna.
You’ll circle the globe and visit other exotic
places.
For God’s sake, marry the miller’s daughter, that was
always your secret wish.
You’ve begun your elocution lessons by correspondence, your
mouth full of stones like the great masters.
Toward fall you’ll compose a tring quartet for grass fire,
night frost, compost and sunset.
Like Wittgenstein you will learn to whistle all Schubert’s
lieder and symphonies except Alte Kameraden.

My mom never mentioned either of these two.

So much to do, there's plenty on the farm
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Saturday night I like to raise a little harm
I'll sleep when I'm dead

hey there say, timid...

wow, that is neat mouse poem, ode...
in both variety...

thanks for the share...
:)

wow, so the appreciation of mouse from merced, even
spills over into having something for everyone, too...

and:
some more stuff that folks might not always understand, as well, ;)
however, as timid did a reply of a version...

mouse's share, when a reply of the 'code' is
share, can thus be understood, as well...

at least--i reckon, ;)

The Mercedes Mouse is a welcome addition to the forum, IMO.

He gave me a wonderful and unexpected gift for my birthday this year!

Thanks, Brian - we will be hosting Upper Pines at Facelift this year, so I KNOW we won't miss you this time around!

Hammerg-noggin and gracias para los bust-a-boobs, nita.

Chops. Ticks. Tacks. Jack Black's Big Mac Attack. It's all costing me extra.

I lost you guys address, my computer got whacked, and life just sucks until you pm me with it again...please. I owe you and I am good for it.

And remember, lest you forget: The littlest firefall was bigger than all of us together, but it's in the past.

I fail to detect a southern Polish accent in Dixie, y'all. But the humor doesn't fail to humor me. Thanks, I needed that in spades.

May everyone have the best of first world problems today, namely, no problems to complain of.

I'm not feeling too good myself
Feeling alright
I'm not feeling that good myself

Don't you get too lost in all I say
But at the time you know, I really felt that way
But that was then and now you know it's today
I can't escape I guess I'm here to stay
'Til someone comes along to take my place

Gotta say I love the Mouse (not the Disney one from Anaheim; the real one from Merced). I keep coming back to the Flames thread...so much to see. Brian is rocking to his own beat, and if you happen to stumble onto his wavelength, there is a fine ride to be had.
Rock on my friend...let's take a day and just drive through the foothills to see what we see.

I find it hard to believe that Modesto is big enough for this dude. But
then I remind myself it is big enough for two dudes who grace our royalty.

Some get cremated. Some are in the bosom of the ocean, too. The variety of disposal means available is quite wide. Unlike the grave.

Eerie laughs emanate from off-stage, or better yet, it's in Surround-Sound.

And Reilly, saying I'm from Modesto is like me saying you, a Seattle man, are from Olympia, for gosh sakes.

Merced is midway between Mo-town and Fresburg.

Almost due south of Oakdale and @ eighty miles from the summit of Mt. Diablo.

I'll take this opportunity to request that my own ashes be set out on the beach below Mt. Clark's southern and western flanks, at the appropriate time, of course.

My camera will for sale to help to pay for the cost of cremation.

Much has been said and I will not repeat, but I'll add to Timid's mentioned poem and post Robert Burns' "To a Mouse" read in a tongue worthy of Mouse from Merced...
