Personally, not that it matters, I think Ron is racist. I could be wrong, but his writing points directly at that. A thinly veiled cover is just that, thinly veiled. People can see through it.

I live in the backwoods of NH. Think town of 2000 people. There are a lot of racist people where I live. I've quit going to certian social gatherings because there are way too many comments about niggers and how many guns are owned. I'm cool with guns, I own them, but the overtly racist dialogue I hear when people are a little buzzed is really too much for me.

I have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, or homophobia.

I hate it when they think you're one of them. Hey, we're all racists here, right?!

Ron may actually believe he is not a racist, he may not realize the things he says are racist. I personally see thinly veiled racism in his words (as do most of this audience) but racism can be a product of misunderstanding as much as it is fueled by hate.

In fact, I will admit to saying very similar things at times, and I too profess to being color blind. I am willing to bet everyone, from any race, has said stupid sh#t before. If that ignorant or stupid thing you said was about racial generalizations or characteristics, then you too are guilty of the same thing. I'm not talking about racist jokes, I love those and I love hearing good ones, but that's when you know it's all in good fun or joking. I am talking about assumptions, mis-judging a book by it's cover and generalizations about people or neighborhoods that really are unneeded. My statements, though technically right or wrong at the time, in retrospect were pretty racist. And I don't think I am a racist, at least I don't want to believe I am and I don't want to be. But I am ignorant about many things and I have no problem admitting that.

Sure, let's all point and laugh, but lets remember why and try steering ourselves in the right direction too. There's nuance to this subject, you may not hate other races or people different than yourself but you may not understand them or understand the nuances of communicating about them or with them. In these cases, I think it's perfectly ok to claim ignorance. Taking responsibility for your ignorance is a much better approach than veiling your understanding and appearing hateful.

Ron has a hard time being wrong, so it's easy to guess that he wishes to appear strong, prideful and as a result hateful or "thinly veiled"...

Ron, you are referring to a positive story.

When anything negative happens regarding someone who was not born here, but lives here, you're the first to jump on the hate train (broad generalization, but mostly correct). Why?

Sorry to jump on the hate train toward you, but you asked for it in starting this thread.

Also, why do you write very well sometimes, but write like a hick in your writing other times?

Rons views are had by being an ex leo. Ron thinks to himself when he saw that photo in Georgia this am, that they: are certainly extremist islamics,
by the ODDS should most definitely be looked into, and that i would be worried if i came up in that scene as an leo.

There are hundreds being watched here now by FBI and DHS. Thats what i thought coming from being trained to simply spot the obvious. Those that have killed and maimed us here are islamic extremists.. The picture indicates the very same.

Ask your self what a Boston Victim would do driving in the woods into that ? How would they feel?

So i guess your ok with a sect that is against the gays, dogs, and womens rights then? I Then must assume your all sexists 100%...

So you profile people based on appearance in America, as a law enforcement officer and you are afraid of religions that are against gays, dogs and women's rights?

I don't know much about this dog thing, but Christians seem to fit your fear, are you a christian?

I "look like" a terrorist to many people, Ron...
... you probably haven't experienced that, you're not making a very convincing defense.

Ron,

The practice of penitente, including self-flaggelation has been going on in parts of New Mexico for hundreds of years, even before our nation was founded. I never thought to correlate the practice by those Catholics as terrorism.

Edit. ....now Ed, on the other hand..........

Faith should be a somewhat private deal. And shouldn't collide with the rules everyone else must abide by

Oh hey, check it out, progress...

Now..can you see why someone would be upset by being profiled by law enforcement for something that even you believe should be kept private?

Racism is not tolerated by the moderators of this forum. Plain and simple.

Case in point: when someone started posting racist photos of Michelle Obama, I sent a note to Chris. The individual was banned, his posts were deleted. Chris thanked me - he doesn't read every post on this forum. Rather than bumping the offensive post, bringing it to his attention is the recourse he specifically suggests.

The next time Bluering refers to women as "bitches," I intend to follow the same course. I've given him a warning. If he gets booted, don't complain to me: it's his own fault.

If you think someone has crossed the line, that's what you do about it.

Apparently you define a racist as a person who admits to being one

As long as they deny it, they're in the clear?

Flip that over. If YOU declare someone to be racist, does that make it so?

I find most liberal race-baiters to be the most racist, looking at everybody though the prism of their skin color, and treating them accordingly.

The definition of racism. Notice how many lib politicians change their vocal inflections based on the ethnic group they speak to, namely blacks.

so it seems none of you geniuses can correlate a risk factor from the above photo taken in New Mexico. This sort of thing doesnt make you wonder if theres not a future bomber in that pic, knowing the factors involving Catholic extremists

I changed two words in your quote. Hope you get the picture, Ron.....

how many future terrorists in this pic?
