Thanks Forest, and thank you for your donation. I defiantly could have done things a little differently and wish I would have. It was the best I could do at the time. I understand that people have been scammed before so it makes sense that you make sure your money is going where you intend it to go. My intention was to give John a little cushion for when he is released from the hospital so he can concentrate on his rehab and not be so overwhelmed with the bills and such that have racked up. So thanks everyone for your contributions and thanks to everyone for keeping it on the up and up so that we make sure these funds in the future are well intended. I will keep the chipin up until John decides to end it. I look forward to a huge party in the future that John can participate in and enjoy with the community that has shown lots of love in their own way, you guys are awesome!

You definitely were a bit defiant. ;-)

Cheers for taking the initiative to help, and for weathering the Supertopo Storm™ (which was actually pretty tame, IMKSHO).

I'm glad you understand the initial skepticism - the Bachar fiasco was (and still is) completely unconscionable,
and there were even a bunch of people who repeatedly chimed in vouching for Tim Greene.

Now let's all have a big group hug.

So I posted a link to the chipin for John on Rockreations Facebook page after they posted John's thank you to them. The link has now been removed. Whats up with that? Why wouldn't they want to help out?

They do it for John, they'd have to do it for every climber that got an oweeee and cried "help". They could also perceive some liability issues that reinforces the fact John got hurt badly there.
Just my thoughts,

I understand the liability aspect but, if it isn't a fund that they started then really whats the big deal?

Friends,

I am Jeff Leads athlete manager for prAna. Please count us in, to donate products from prana, however the group see fit. In addition the Winter Trade Show is next month and I'll be attending as usual. If there is any interest in doing something there for John, I would be more than happy to co-ordinate or be a point of contact for any help there. Hell, I would even go around and ask for donations or products, or...

just trying to help a friend in need.

Hey Chris...
The link was deleted from Rockreation's Facebook page per John's request. He specifically stated to management at Rockreation that he would let us know when he wanted our help and participation in a fundraising effort for him. Out of respect for his wishes we said that we would not begin any fundraising plans until further notice by him nor endorse any others without his consent. I will speak with him directly about your particular fundraising effort and ask if he wishes to have it posted on our Facebook page.
Thank you.

HME,
Cool beans. Just trying to let everyone know about the fund and figured that those that visit your page, meaning Rockreation, would like to know about it. I'm sure John would give you the ok next time you talk to him.

Cheers.

TYeary,

There is no event framework or punch list at the moment.
I recommend getting in touch with Ron Gomez and start roughing one out.
He knows what to do in general and you can start figuring out where you might want to fit in.

For starters you have Jeff Leeds and Adidas just a few posts up to respond to. I'd recommend getting together with Maria and Ron Gomez for a conference call and see if she can just start right in with those industry folks. She'll want to talk with Ricky to get a sense of how he thinks the benefit ought to go and what kind of industry help is most desired.

Just a suggestion!
