Worry more about the giant lack of diversity in the climbing community.
yeah, this thread's a giant step toward solving that problem. every talented af-am from oakland to sb is gonna read this and say, cool-- climbing isnt all peckerwood junction. it's now all about white hipster post-racial wannabes dialing up the mandingo on the dvd.
on the upside, maybe u or vitaly can slather on the black face and then it'll be all "pleazhur-me-u-black-wench."

I seriously can't stop laughing at peckerwood junction either. In addition, the fact that your frame is just the bay area is telling, but funny stuff nonetheless.
Why do we need diversity? Im tired of staring at flat asses in the harnesses. That's pretty much what it boils down to. I'd like to enjoy a beautiful activity in a beautiful setting surrounded by beautiful women. I know.... I'm the worst, yeah?

Of the four women that have proposed to me two were white, one was (very) black, and one was half Danish half Indian.
As pointed out before, they are all pink in the middle. Superficial features count for little, content of character is everything.
I have read The Vanishing American Jew by Dershowitz and agree with much of what he says, but I have to look at the bigger picture.
In a crowded world where everyone breaths the same air and drink the same water we absolutely MUST get past the polarizing effects of the us/them mentality.
Perhaps I feel so strongly because if you actually look up the GPS co-ordinates of Peckerwood Junction it gives you the intersection a block and a half from my house in LaVerkin, Utah where the sweep-it-under-the-carpet people keep blocking out the swastikas that get painted at night.
So I see the hybridization of the human race as both inevitable andnecessary for us in order to allow racism to become moribund.
Currently I am seeing a Chinese woman since, at my age, it is nice to be with somebody where a half hour later you feel like going again.

So I see the hybridization of the human race as both inevitable andnecessary for us in order to allow racism to become moribund.
I tend to agree here, but I'm curious as to the rate of this - I feel that more developed countries will see a more blended society sooner than the less developed, where education tends to be more sparse, and backwards thoughts of "keeping your race pure" tend to flourish.
I'm no expert, though - we have any anthropologists in the house?
