Rick, looks like you're getting in some backcountry time. Life beyond the desk seems to working well!

Nice Rick! Looks like you guys are killing it this year!!

ThisJustIn and I got to shred some hot pow together Thursday morning.

I had a little snow on the truck.

Website said 13cm's. It kept getting fatter all morning though.

Justin after our second sweet lap.

After a couple more laps We hiked up to the top of crystal chair.

It was total elephant snot up there. We dropped in on a sweet untracked groomer, and I dropped my nose in for the first turn and instantly felt like i was going over the bars. The rest of the run was a sticky nose wheelie. Very challenging and not extremely pleasant.. Lol

Justin got a little wet...

That evening Sandra and I went to visit Justin and Mindy at the club for a soak in tub.

Mindy, Justin and Sandra

It was a great day, and I was happy to share some of my lines with Justin. Hopefully next time he comes we have more to work with! ;)

one word to describe the skiing on mammoth today.......DANGER...rain all the way to the top ,froze last nite....makes for some slick conditions. Only climax had a little blown in snow which was ok then the clouds rolled in and they shut it down.

Shawn and Phil joined me for a little hike to the peak.

The groomers were building the cat road as Tifo passed.

Day 3

It was a snowy day at Whistler/Blackcomb.

Cruisers were the order of the day, with a side of off piste "powder" skiing. Open runs are highly recommended.. Lol

Day 5

No new snow today. The high pressure ridge continues to dominate.

Breakfast on the Gondy
"Biggus Mikeis" shadow, Rainbow Mountain lit in the glorious morning light, and Roundhouse lodge looking pretty sharp too.

First perfect piece of cord I'd seen all season.

Corduroy juxtaposed with Whistler's infamous backcountry.

Looking down valley towards Pemberton.

Snow sliding's on hold for a few hours in West Yellowstone with the temp at -20f and the snow making that special crunch when walked or skied on. Huge XC festival with scads of skiers in town, demos, first races of the season, and granola flying everywhere!

thanks Justin! ;)

Day 6

Another gorgeous bluebird day. I went for a walk up to harmony to ride a freshly groomed saddle.

I can't get enough of these perfect cord and mountain shots!
Todd! Sounds chilly! The r3 bubble is being forced east by this next system. The jetstream is finally strong enough to push it out!!
