The card is fantastic....An Atlantic Puffin. It was my husband Dan's favorite bird. The card was made by my secret santa. AND it had a message which said, "open the note after the other gifts. So I followed Santa's instructions.

The gifts. Two of them. They are lightweight and can't even begin to imagine what they are. Along with the gifts a card. "Ho Mon, this is Christmas to the max", I'm thinking.

OK Crimpie, Opening ..... they are so light and funny shaped. No idea what they could be. Secret Santa wrote in the card that he couldn't decide to send something practical or fun, so he sent one of each. He Hopes I'll enjoy them. Of Course Dude Santa. You have fulfilled my every, unknown to my own heart even, wish.

Two incredibly beautifully handmade spoons AND a Native American style rattle .....to add to my collection of wooden spoons and handmade musical instruments. Just how did you know, Santa? Where did you find my wish list? Amazing!

This is the rattle. It's gorgeous to the touch and plays well. <br/>

I opened my note and it read....the rattle is made of an elk rawhide head on a stick which I collected from a beaver dam showing toothmarks on the cut ends and around the stem where the bark was removed. The trim is beaver fur and deer leather. Inside the rattle is dried corn grown on an ancient native American site, a small quartz point, chips of jasper, amethyst and small stones collected from the roots of an upturned pine tree.

These rattles love to "sing" when sitting around a campfire with friends. Enjoy!

Did you know, Santa Edge, how much I love music and collect handmade instruments for campfires? Please come join us at Tioga Pass Resort in the Eastern Sierra where this rattle will be lovingly cherished and played.

Edge, the two spoons represent another great love in my life, cooking. I will take such good care of them!!! I love the Tiger Maple they are crafted from. The stripes in the wood are so unique. Even my grandkids were amazed that wood could do that. Thanks!!!

Much, Much Thanks and Love from lynnie

What a splendid day, holiday, and blessings to you LS Edge.

hey there say, strangeday! wow!

as to your quote:
It's funny too, because the photo you used, I didn't even remember posting. I took that a few years ago on one of the first trips to Joshua tree with my wife. It was one of those really cold and windy days, and it seemed like we had the entire park to ourselves. Seeing the painting brought back wonderful memories from a really great time in our lives.

i was pretty sure you'd guess it was me, ;)
(think i signed the picture in back, too, not sure)...

BUT--now I CAN SEND you your christmas, card, :))
will mail it tomorrow, :))

i just KNEW that picture, since you posted it, was something special, i just did not know HOW special...

i love when these 'gut' feelings turn into sooooo much more treasure
than we realize!!! and--i nearly did not have a frame, as they are hard to find at the thrift store, but:

this PERFECT COLOR one was there!!! and a great buy! to put on it...
i could NOT do oils, it would never have dried, but i sparyed it so it
would be more 'glossy'...
i had never done a dark sky yet, so i sure prayed A LOT!!!!!

so--your gift to you, came back to me a lovley experpience THAT I TOO
WILL NEVER FORGET...

thank you to supertopo santa, nick, for all this experiece to us
ol' giver-folks, we DO learn so much, in the process here, nick!!!

zip--thanks for letting me know about lolli, and lolli, thanks for
letting me get included... and--thanks all back to nick, again,

and--to the supertopo of chris! to EVEN exist here!!!!!
thank you chris!

I received my Secret Santa gift from none other than Ms Tami Knight! So nice; a cool drawing and a tee shirt. I am now a proud owner of Tami Knight original!!!

My secret Santa gift went out this morning. Loaded down with a plethora of 3 and 5 cent stamps from the '30s through the 80s plastering the box. I hope my recipient gets it in time for Xmas.

Thanks Tami for the precious gift and Strider for putting it all together.

Lynne, I am so glad that you like the gifts! And the picture story you told: photos, captions, multiple posts, building anticipation; thats how to do it! You even had me wondering what it was...

The fun of this for me was doing some Christmas staulking (misspelling intentional) to figure out something special to give. I recognized your name from around the forum, but while checking out some of your old posts I realized I was giving to one of the Taco's own angels.

Several posts mentioned cooking, so the wooden spoons seemed appropriate. We use a similar one that I made almost every day.

I went out on a limb with the rattle. I had no idea if you were even musical, let alone collect small instruments, but I just had a hunch that you needed to have one. When I collect the stones and branches that I use, I rarely know who will be receiving them, but always know that they end up with just the right person.

Happy holidays everyone!
