When he's not around, gets elected.

But he's crazy. We avoid him like a mad dog.

You can light a fire with a mirror.

Try it next time you need to smoke some bees.
Smokin' bees is cool.

Smokin' Jay's is cool.

Smokin' jays is cool and fun and medically acceptable.
And all climbers do it, too.

Dido's Lament
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsOb86jqN04]

This is a Henry Purcell work, libretto by Nahum Tate.

Recitative

Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me,
On thy bosom let me rest,
More I would, but Death invades me;
Death is now a welcome guest.

Aria

When I am laid, am laid in earth,
May my wrongs create no trouble,
No trouble in thy breast;
Remember me, remember me, but ah! forget my fate.
Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

I saw Doucet play at the Roxy. Blackalicious was not on the bill that night.

I saw Hiawatha right down the road from my mom's farmhouse.

I saw that even Casey Jones could get into trouble in Ironwood.

=
Saw Eddie Murphy (and his bodyguards) at Tower Records.

And yes I even saw this fool while driving down Sunset Blvd. All credit to Jim Smeal. He apparently wants it.

Never actually saw Gloria, but her hair was perfect.

Popped my head in the door a couple of times looking for Warren - no luck.

Fuel Howitizer you say? How does he feel about bikers?

This is a two part Instructable designed to demonstrate how to construct 1) A hybrid potato cannon capable of accelerating a projectile to supersonic speeds and 2) A cannon mount that resembles a WWII Howitzer field piece.

This is about is powerful as it gets with this size of potato gun. The boom is like a thunder and if you aren't careful you will quickly lose sight of the projectile. It definitely packs a punch and is "just a blast" to fire.

I found most of the parts for the cannon at a plumbing supply store in town and the rest at Home Depot. Then I pieced together the mount from parts I had laying around my home.

The whole cannon can be made with no welding experience as all the parts can either be screwed together are epoxied together. The only difficulty that comes with this is that you have to fix a lot of leaks before you can operate the cannon, but this is not hard to do.

Who is this fool Smeal, anyway, that he wants to get in the limelight yet refuses to let his picture get published?

The only Smeals I know I worked with at Ike's Pump and Drilling.

Our usual truck was a '56 Chevy haf-ton with an old Smeal rig mounted on it, complete with stabilizers fro the rear tower set-up.

Similar to the modern version in that it got the job done on small stuff,
our larger rig for turbine work was a Smeal, as well. It used outriggers on the rear when erecting the tower for better...erection and pulling.

I think that is actually a Smealette.

Compare for example the Smeal 50T.

... infinite speed control from zero to 30 feet per minute

I think this is still off the mark we're looking for of 3/5 of a mile in 10 seconds though.

I either have or am getting down the walkabout, knockabout, roustabout stuff and I think I follow the astronauts, but how does a scribblenaut function in the universe?

This is all starting to look suspiciously familiar.

Burning up the Mouse?

Must be Evil-Doers in the building, too, Elvis.

Here are a few mydeas, and there's no fee. The first worked for the Dribble-Nots in their championship season and the last completely tamed the Tribbles for Kirk and Krew. Tribbles hate Twitter!

First. Draw on your innate resources.

Second. Get a reliable agent. (I'm booked; sorry.) PTPP might have a sage bit of advice here.

Third. Go on Twitter and twit.

The 50T is a workhorse. But they are tricky to set up. I've gotten chewed out for doing it wrong by Ike Sr., but it's a hugely expensive piece of gear.

I taught Ike Jr. to use Jumars on his rigs. We got the basic down on the little rig, then raised the mast all the way up on the big rig and amazed the old man.

The best and most lasting way to prominence is to claim superiority over other's methods or abilities.

Like so:

"MINE'S BIGGER and MORE EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN than your pitiful little toy."

And like a good Boy Scout, be prepared to back up your claim.Thus.

At or near last count the mfm has 988 posts in this thread. zB has 440.

Why is this important? It's not, but we all gotta lotta calculators and we gotta calculate something, he said in a manner calculated to elicit no response.

Ginger Baker & Günter Grass got no goods on this guy.

He is an author, a writer, shamelessly shaming himself by generalizing all authors as worthy and therefore all ideas as worthy, an iconoclast spoiling my day. You are just the messenger, I hope.

In promoting, extolling, and recommending its addition to one's library the publication known as The Whole Book of Earth and Sky and Water: A Catalog of Needful Things by Steven Says, by the same token, I am a pimp.

Beat that drum, Baker Street. Sound that Golden Kazoo, Bozo. Alles gut.

Kienholz in the museum/whorehouse, March 26, 1966.

"It's art, for Art's sake, dammit!"

Don't Know Much About Art, But . . . L.A. County Supervisor Warren Dorn and county lawyer John Maharg discuss "Five Dollar Billy," part of Ed Kienholz's Roxy's installation portraying a whorehouse. The installation at the L.A. County Museum of Art, along with the artist's Back Seat Dodge, 38, created a red-hot controversy.

Controversy.

"Well, if it's not raised a stink by now..."

"It could have been edgier, more pointed..."

"She sure uses loud colors; she's zBrown's protege, one of them, anyhow..."

That many posts, eh?

I never got the chance to ask Herr Grass (nor Mrs. nee Frau Grass) how many of his own he considered bad, or more correctly sacredly bad.

He did say that:

“Granted: I AM an inmate of a mental hospital; my keeper is watching me, he never lets me out of his sight; there's a peep-hole in the door, and my keeper's eye is the shade of brown that can never see through a blue-eyed type like me.”
― Günter Grass, The Tin Drum

That brown word again.

Oh where have you been my blue-eyed son?
