I shared a rope with our scandinavian friend just yesterday.I had sometimes been concerned , that with his tendency for darkness in his prose and the alcohol abuse he often wrote of, that he just might need a few stern words of caution from somebody who has been there and done that.True he did appear with beer in hand, steadily drinking on the approach trail, but other than that his demeanor and bearing far exceeded my expectations.Weeg is a still young man of quite considerable intelligence and a good measure of refinement. We talked of the importance of love and dedication to ones family. He mentioned his daughter's were beautifully named after Himalayan mountains. Weeg may often rage against the machine, but i now have no doubt that he easily has the ability to excise the demons he so often writes of. Overall he shows great poise on and off the rock and is a credit to the climbing community.

"If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine . . . "

Norwegian is a priceless individual, we are very fortunate to hear his innermost thoughts and reflections. Very few can express themselves the way he can and very few are brave enough to expose themselves the way he does.

Love you Weege Bro.

Rick S. speaks the truth, the Norwegian is a quality guy and refreshing character who can provide you a perspective like no one else. A western slope home grown mountain lover who appreciates the full range of life and everything that's comes with it. I've met alot of fine people in the range and made some great friends, most certainly the Norwegian is one of them.

Props to Gabe for starting this thread. Norwegian puts a great deal of soul into his writing and this forum. Obviously, because he has it.

LOL. Indeed, I'm about as boring as a lump of coal. But just as it doesn't take being a 5.14 climber oneself to appreciate great climbing when you see it, I can hugely appreciate Norwegian. I mean hell, even a lump of coal has many facets!

Cheers,
